Huong Tich Pagoda, situated on the Ngan Hong mountain range, is steeped in numerous myths and legends, and is a symbol and source of pride for the people of Nghe Tinh. Legend says the pagoda was built during the Tran dynasty, associated with the story of Princess Dieu Thien, daughter of King Trang Vuong of the Chu kingdom, who practiced asceticism and attained Buddhahood. This ancient pagoda is renowned for its sacredness and is considered the "foremost scenic spot of Hoan Chau," one of the 21 scenic spots of ancient An Nam.

Through the ups and downs of history, the Huong Tich Pagoda complex, a cultural and religious site, continues to captivate hearts and attract visitors. The ancient, moss-covered pagoda nestled on the mountainside is considered a measure of time, a testament to the enduring strength of Huong Tich Pagoda over the centuries. The benevolent spirit and compassionate generosity are the principles and cultural beauty of Buddhism, harmonizing with the faith of every local resident and visitor who sincerely turns their hearts towards the temple.
January in the Capital City / February in Huong Tich Temple . Traditionally, the main ceremony at Huong Tich Temple takes place on the 18th day of the 2nd lunar month (the day Princess Dieu Thien attained Buddhahood). However, from the beginning of the new Spring of the Year of the Dragon, locals and tourists from all over flock to the temple to visit, perform rituals, and pray for peace, happiness, and success in all endeavors. A spring excursion to Huong Tich Temple has become a beautiful cultural tradition and a source of strength, amplifying the values of truth, goodness, and beauty for locals and visitors alike.
“Visiting Huong Tich Pagoda allowed us to learn about and explore the historical and cultural values of this sacred and meaningful ancient temple. Here, we experienced boat tours, electric car rides, the modern cable car system, and enjoyed local specialties, creating many surprising and enjoyable moments during our spring trip, leaving many positive impressions,” shared Ms. Le Thi Huyen Trang from Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi.

During springtime, visitors to Huong Tich Pagoda can freely experience and explore the mysterious and pristine beauty of the mountains, rivers, and sky. There, you'll find Nha Duong Lake with its clear blue waters reflecting the high Ngan Hong mountain; an electric tram route through ancient pine forests, enjoying a cool and fresh climate; and a cable car system soaring over the high mountains amidst ethereal white clouds. The beauty of the natural scenery and the well-organized, scientific tourism services have created many advantages for visitors to explore Huong Tich Pagoda.
“On the Nha Duong Lake cruise, all tourists must wear life jackets and only carry the permitted number of people; during peak festival days, we prevent overcrowding, pushing, and shoving that could disrupt public order and traffic safety. We continue to innovate and improve the quality of our cruise services, contributing to connecting and attracting tourists, leaving a beautiful image of Huong Tich Pagoda in everyone's minds,” shared Mr. Le Ngoc Loi of Hong Thanh Cooperative, Huong Tich Pagoda Tourist Area.

Visiting Huong Tich Pagoda has now become a cultural highlight not only for the people of Ha Tinh and surrounding areas but also an attractive and interesting destination for domestic and international tourists. To ensure safe and convenient visits and pilgrimages, this year, reception services, security, traffic safety, and environmental hygiene have been strengthened. Tourism services are increasingly innovative, operating in a more organized and professional manner.

Speaking to reporters, Tran Thi Thu Ha, Head of the Management Board of Huong Tich Pagoda Tourist Area, said that from the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Dragon until now, there have been approximately 60,000 visitors, a 20% increase compared to the same period last year. This shows that Huong Tich Pagoda, with its historical and cultural values, beautiful natural scenery, and friendly, hospitable people, is becoming an attractive destination for tourists from all over the world.
According to Ms. Ha, to achieve these outstanding results, the unit has intensified its propaganda efforts, continuously innovated, and improved the effectiveness of state management, especially focusing on digital transformation to promote tourism development. Activities such as welcoming, supporting, and guiding tourists during sightseeing and religious ceremonies, especially during peak seasons, have been carried out meticulously, creating convenience and satisfaction for visitors from near and far.
“In the coming time, we will continue to implement the management and exploitation of the values of the Huong Tich Pagoda, a national-level architectural and scenic site, in a synchronized and effective manner. We will strengthen connections with travel companies to attract tourists, while diversifying tourism products and organizing more beautiful check-in points so that tourists can have new and exciting discoveries and experiences,” Ms. Tran Thi Thu Ha informed.
