At the Outpatient Department, doctors and nurses receive and examine approximately 700 patients per day; during peak periods, this number can reach 800-900 per day. Of these, chronic diseases account for about 300 examinations per day. This reality shows that the demand for regular health care and monitoring is increasing, especially for non-communicable diseases and health conditions in the elderly.

Mr. Le Duy Trung (Cam Pha ward) shared: “For many years, I have maintained a routine health check-up twice a year at Cam Pha Regional General Hospital to check indicators such as blood pressure, blood sugar, and blood lipids… Through these visits, I find the medical staff to be dedicated, thorough in examination, and provide specific advice, so patients feel very reassured.” Meanwhile, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngai (Mong Duong ward), who is being treated for diabetes, regularly visits the hospital for check-ups once a month. According to Ms. Ngai, having regular health check-ups and monitoring at a hospital near her home is more convenient for patients, while also reducing travel and treatment costs.
According to Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Thanh (Deputy Head of the Outpatient Department), regular check-ups, screenings, and monitoring are very important for people with chronic diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and respiratory diseases. Many diseases in their early stages often do not have typical symptoms and are easily overlooked. With good management at the primary care level, patients can have abnormalities detected early, receive timely treatment advice, thereby limiting complications and the risk of worsening conditions.

To improve the effectiveness of disease prevention, early detection, and timely treatment, Cam Pha Regional General Hospital focuses on investing in modern equipment. Since the beginning of 2026, the hospital's Department of Diagnostic Imaging and Functional Examination has put into operation many new devices. A notable example is the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system using advanced magnetic technology, supporting the screening and early detection of diseases of the brain, spine, musculoskeletal system, and internal organs. The equipment is designed to reduce noise, making the procedure more comfortable for patients.
In addition, the new generation digital high-frequency X-ray system provides clear images, supporting rapid diagnosis while reducing X-ray exposure for patients. Equipment such as CT scanners, ultrasound machines, C-arms, and gastrointestinal endoscopy systems also contribute to improving the hospital's diagnostic and treatment capabilities. Dr. Nguyen The Tai (Head of the Department of Diagnostic Imaging and Functional Examination) said: Along with investing in equipment, the hospital pays special attention to training human resources. Many doctors in the department are sent to participate in short-term and long-term training courses at central and provincial hospitals to access and master new techniques. After training, many modern diagnostic and interventional techniques have been implemented at the hospital, contributing to the early detection of cancer and many dangerous diseases, helping patients receive treatment locally.
Currently, Cam Pha Regional General Hospital treats approximately 450-500 inpatients daily. This large workload necessitates the hospital's continuous improvement in professional quality, innovation in service procedures, and development of techniques to meet the healthcare needs of the people. According to Dr. Do Huy Dinh, Deputy Director of the hospital, the hospital always prioritizes patients in all its medical examination and treatment activities. Alongside this, the unit focuses on training human resources, promoting the application of science and technology, and gradually improving professional quality and patient care. Currently, about 70% of the hospital's doctors hold postgraduate degrees. Despite being a grassroots hospital, the unit has implemented many advanced techniques such as hip replacement surgery, laparoscopic abdominal surgery, and other modern interventional techniques, enabling patients to receive treatment locally.
