Manchester United face the risk of losing one of their most promising young goalkeepers as Radek Vitek attracts interest from several Premier League clubs. According to the Daily Mail, Hull City is the latest name to join the race for the 22-year-old's signature. Two other newly promoted teams, Coventry City and Ipswich Town, are also closely monitoring the young Czech international.
Vitek made a strong impression while playing for Bristol City last season. On loan in the Championship, he made 41 appearances and kept 12 clean sheets. His consistent performances led to the assessment that the goalkeeper was ready to test himself in the Premier League.
Sources from England indicate that Manchester United are unwilling to lose Vitek. However, the Old Trafford club understands that the current situation is quite complicated. The 2004-born goalkeeper's contract only has two years remaining, while he himself wants to play regularly rather than continue as a reserve.
Previously, Vitek had publicly admitted that he didn't want to stay at Old Trafford just as a backup option. The Czech goalkeeper aims to become the first-choice goalkeeper to further develop his career. This has forced MU to consider their options. The club is willing to sell Vitek if they receive a suitable offer. In the case of a loan, the "Red Devils" want him to extend his contract before leaving the team.
In parallel, MU is also looking for an experienced goalkeeper to support Senne Lammens. Two names that have been considered are Sam Johnstone of Wolves and Karl Darlow of Leeds United.
Radek Vitek's future therefore promises to be one of the most noteworthy stories at MU in the coming weeks. With his ambition to be the regular starting goalkeeper, the possibility of this young goalkeeper leaving Old Trafford is growing increasingly likely.
