Building a new home in a disadvantaged area.

The family of Mr. Hoang Dinh Quang, residing in Hamlet 9, Na Ri Commune, is bustling with preparations for moving into their new home. This has been a long-held dream of the couple, but they lacked the means to realize it. With a 60 million VND grant from the program to eliminate temporary housing, Mr. Quang decided to borrow more money and invest his own labor to build a more spacious and sturdy home. The joyful atmosphere is evident on every face.

Family members decorated the house, prepared dishes, and those living far away also came to offer congratulations. The new house is not just a change of residence but also opens up a new, more solid beginning for the future. Mr. Quang shared: "The support from all levels and sectors has given me more determination to make this happen. Now that we have a new house, the whole family will focus on developing the economy to escape poverty."

According to statistics, the entire Na Rì commune has 146 households participating in the program to eliminate temporary housing. Of these, 43 houses have been completed, 89 are under construction, and 13 have not yet started. With significant time pressure, the government and people are working diligently and urgently.

Ms. Nong Thi Anh Tho, Chairwoman of the People's Committee of Na Ri commune, said: "After the commune merger and the operation of the government according to the new model, we have reorganized the Steering Committee, and continued to assign officials to regularly inspect and encourage households to start and complete construction, committing to completing it on schedule."

In Phu Thong commune, the work of eliminating temporary housing is also being implemented comprehensively. The entire commune has 82 households eligible for support, of which 60 have completed construction and received payment, 18 are currently under construction, and 4 have not yet started. The commune government assigns officials to each household, providing support with materials and labor, and regularly monitoring progress.

Mr. Nong Ngoc Huan, Chairman of the People's Committee of Phu Thong commune, said: The People's Committee of the commune has held meetings and developed a specific plan, integrating it with the content of local socio-economic development, ensuring the progress of eliminating temporary houses as committed.

For many families in remote areas, a new house is not just a shelter from the sun and rain, but also a symbol of change. Many families take advantage of favorable weather to speed up construction and save costs by contributing their own labor and mobilizing relatives to help.

"Although building material prices have increased, my wife and I proactively participated in some of the work, so we saved a significant amount on the cost of building our new house," shared Mr. Ly Van Huong, from Group 6, Na Ri Commune.

The joy of Mr. Quang's family and Mr. Huong will continue to spread to hundreds of other households in the coming time. With the close support of the authorities at all levels, the progress in eliminating temporary housing is not just about statistics but also affirms practical effectiveness, creating a foundation for people to settle down, develop the economy, and rise out of poverty sustainably.
