Osaka flight back to Da Nang

With the increasing number of Japanese tourists visiting Da Nang City, and Japan currently being the largest foreign investor in Da Nang, the Osaka-Da Nang flight route has been restored.

On July 3rd, Vietnam Airlines flight VN337 from Osaka (Japan) landed at Da Nang airport.

This is the first direct flight to resume connecting Osaka and Da Nang after a 7-year hiatus since 2018, marking the restoration and expansion of the air network connecting Da Nang with major cities in Japan.

The welcoming ceremony took place solemnly at the arrival terminal of the international passenger terminal at Da Nang Airport, with the participation of the Japanese Consul General in Da Nang, leaders of the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Da Nang International Airport, Da Nang International Terminal Investment and Operation Joint Stock Company, Vietnam Airlines, and the Border Police of Da Nang International Airport…

Upon entering the terminal, passengers were greeted with artistic performances showcasing the rich cultural heritage of both Vietnam and Japan. Simultaneously, the first three lucky passengers received fresh flowers, souvenirs, and vouchers for round-trip flights between Japan and Vietnam from Vietnam Airlines.

All passengers received a Danang FantastiCity gift bag, along with a voucher for discounts on local tourism services, as a warm welcome and a token of hospitality and friendliness from Da Nang City.

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Northeast Asian market, especially Japan, remains one of Da Nang City's important international markets, with an average growth rate of 20% per year.

In the first six months of 2025, Da Nang welcomed over 108,000 Japanese tourists (based on the actual number of overnight stays), accounting for 4.16% of the total number of international visitors.

At the same time, Japan is currently the leading country in terms of registered investment capital in Da Nang City with nearly 1.15 billion USD for nearly 270 projects. Therefore, the demand for travel and trade between the two localities is very high.

The restoration of the Osaka-Da Nang route with a frequency of 4 flights/week on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays, combined with the existing Narita-Da Nang route with a frequency of 7 flights/week, has increased the total number of flights connecting Da Nang with major cities in Japan to 11 flights/week.

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, this facilitates two-way tourist exchange between Central Vietnam and Japan, especially trade relations between Da Nang City and major cities in the Land of the Rising Sun.
