In the 1-2 defeat to Leeds United on April 14th, Martinez was sent off for pulling striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin's hair. Referee Paul Tierney didn't notice, but after consulting VAR, the decision to issue a red card was made. According to regulations, pulling an opponent's hair with apparent force is considered " unsportsmanlike violence".
