Ferdinand posted a message on his personal page: "Sorry to miss the semi-final this week. Good luck to the team. I will be watching every minute on my iPad."

According to SunSport , Ferdinand's condition is not serious. The 46-year-old former star is a familiar face on TNT Sports ' football shows, participating in commentary or analysis. He often joins the station's commentary team.
