FIFA lifts two bans, Thanh Hoa Club still has two suspensions.

Thanh Hoa FC has settled its financial obligations regarding two cases of unpaid salaries, and FIFA has lifted two bans on the team registering new players in the V-League.

On the morning of March 14th, Thanh Hoa FC had two of its player registration bans lifted from FIFA's database. However, with two remaining bans, the team from Thanh Hoa is still not allowed to register players.

At the same time, an organization responsible for seeking the plaintiff's rights also announced that it had resolved the financial dispute with the Thanh Hoa stadium owner.

"We have just passed the complex FIFA rules and regulations to protect the legitimate rights of our two professional players," the organization stated, without elaborating further.

Thanh Hoa FC has made efforts to make legitimate financial payments to the two aforementioned players, in order to gradually lift the four FIFA bans on registering new players. They still have two more applications to process before March 17th.

March 17th is the deadline for registering players in the Vietnamese football transfer window. If they don't make any signings in time, Thanh Hoa will have to play with around 19 players, including 3 goalkeepers.

The two remaining transfer bans for Thanh Hoa Club prohibit the registration of new players, with the first being effective from January 14, 2026, and the second from December 12, 2025, for three future transfer windows.

This is not the first time Thanh Hoa FC has been sued by FIFA, nor is it the first time the team has been banned from registering new players. Previously, they were able to resolve these issues when they had the money.

In August 2025, the chairman of Thanh Hoa FC, Mr. Cao Tien Doan, was arrested. As a result, the team faced a financial crisis, leading to unpaid salaries and the inability to compensate for contract breaches.

After selling players in recent times, the team now has the financial resources to maneuver. Despite having fewer players, they still perform well and produce surprising results.

After round 16, Thanh Hoa FC has 13 points, ranking 12th out of 14 teams and is battling to avoid relegation.
