FPT Edu's data was stolen by hackers.

This account shares data that is also related to severalFPT subsidiaries, and the data was obtained through the website of a member unit of the FPT education group.

A security expert stated that with the data obtained, hackers could fully exploit the web-based messaging function to send messages to students in order to carry out online scams.

Users should exercise caution when downloading data from unknown sources to their computers.

Confirming with Thanh Nien newspaper , a representative from FPT stated that they have acknowledged the incident and are reviewing their system. Currently, the Telegram account no longer exists online.

Regarding the issue of data being shared publicly online, the Information Security Department (Ministry of Information and Communications) has issued a warning that when downloading files from unknown sources on the internet, users are likely to be infected with pre-installed malware that can easily spread to other devices. The consequences include the possibility of information on users' computers being stolen, encrypted, completely deleted, or worse, exploited to attack other computers and systems.

To protect the legitimate rights and interests of users and businesses, especially regarding personal information, the Cybersecurity Department recommends that organizations and businesses strengthen the implementation of management and technical measures to ensure information security for information systems serving internal operations as well as providing online services to users. They should proactively review weaknesses and vulnerabilities in information systems; monitor and supervise to detect early risks and signs of cyberattacks, and promptly address any arising issues.
