To promote digital transformation in Indonesia, encourage innovation and develop high-quality digital human resources, and contribute to realizing the vision of a "Golden Generation of Indonesia" by 2045,FPT and the Indonesian Ministry of National Development Planning (Bappenas) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for a 5-year period (2025 – 2030).
The memorandum of understanding marks a significant milestone in Indonesia's commitment to leveraging cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), green technologies, and smart city solutions to promote the nation's comprehensive and sustainable development.
According to the cooperation agreement, FPT and Bappenas will jointly implement strategic initiatives to accelerate digital transformation in Indonesia. Specifically, the cooperation focuses on jointly developing national and sectoral digital transformation strategies and plans, with a focus on enhancing digital governance capabilities through the implementation of e-Government systems , smart planning, and e-Monitoring platforms.
A key pillar of the cooperation is the development of digital human resources. Both sides will design and implement comprehensive advanced training and retraining programs in key areas such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, software engineering, and data science . These programs target civil servants, students, and young workers across Indonesia to build a future-ready workforce.
The agreement also promotes innovation through pilot projects applying AI, green technologies, and smart agriculture to address challenges in urban management and sustainable development. FPT will provide strategic advice and policy contributions to shape Indonesia's digital economy, with a focus on areas such as logistics, fintech, and digital infrastructure.
“To realize the Indonesia Golden Vision 2045, we must leverage technology, strengthen our industrial foundations, and invest in the future generation of digital talent. Through this collaboration, we will not only enhance our national technological capabilities but also jointly create a shared, inclusive, sustainable, and innovative future for both Indonesia and Vietnam,” said Indonesian Minister of National Development Planning Rachmat Pambudy.
The memorandum of understanding is the result of in-depth discussions during the visit of the Indonesian Government delegation to FPT in April 2025, led by Mr. Rachmat Pambudy, Minister of National Development Planning (Bappenas). During the meeting, both sides discussed new cooperation directions, particularly in the fields of artificial intelligence and human resource development. With this collaboration, FPT expects to work alongside Indonesia to realize its vision of "Indonesia's Golden Generation 2045," in which AI is seen as a key growth driver for the digital economy.
As part of its activities in Indonesia, FPT also exchanged information and signed cooperation agreements with several leading Indonesian universities regarding the transfer of training programs in the fields of IT, AI, and Semiconductors.
Specifically, FPT signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with Amikom University of Yogyakarta, Bunda Mulia University (UBM), and the Indonesian Institute of Technology (Institut Teknologi Indonesia), and a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Ciputra University. These agreements contribute to expanding the international partner network, facilitating access to a global learning environment for Vietnamese and Indonesian students, and promoting research cooperation and innovation.
FPT leaders also held a meeting with the Indonesian Ministry of Education. During the meeting, the Indonesian Ministry of Education leaders highly appreciated the practical training model of the FPT education system and proposed that the two sides establish a specialized team to exchange and share experiences in training high-tech human resources and to collaborate on the transfer of training programs across different fields.
