Recently, residents of Bao Lam 4 commune and social media users have become familiar with the image of a young police officer appearing on social media under the name "Chang Dam Tells Stories." This is the channel of Senior Lieutenant Vu Van Tuan, an officer of the Bao Lam 4 Commune Police. He created this Facebook page with the aim of connecting more closely with the local people.
“Through my work and local management experience, I've noticed that people in remote areas have started using social media more widely. However, social media is flooded with negative information and harmful content that isn't strictly controlled, leading to misunderstandings and misinterpretations among the people. On my personal page, I incorporate legal information and advice to help people identify criminals and fraudulent activities in a more thorough and detailed way,” Lieutenant Vu Van Tuan shared.
Videos about the lives of local people and the activities of the commune police and local authorities, shared and posted by Mr. Tuan, have attracted hundreds of thousands of views and attention. From this, he realized that reaching out to people through social media is highly effective and creates interaction with users. He also believes that to truly connect with people in their lives, it's necessary to understand the customs, traditions, and culture of different ethnic groups and regions.
During his field trips, he dedicated time to listening to and conversing with respected individuals, village elders, and the local people to record authentic and intimate footage. Through his Facebook page, "Chàng Đam Tells Stories," his authentic videos about life in the mountains and forests, and the cultural beauty of the Ma ethnic group and other ethnic minorities in the northern part of Bao Lam commune, have become familiar and positively received by social media users.
Through simple video clips depicting rural life, Lieutenant Tuan has connected with philanthropists to help those in need in the area, organize charitable programs, and donate gifts to children… “Many people also text or call to inquire about administrative procedures or work-related matters concerning the activities of the police force and the government. This has improved the effectiveness of public relations work and somewhat eliminated the distance and apprehension of the people,” Lieutenant Vu Van Tuan added.
Strengthening measures to maintain security and order.
Major Nguyen Dinh Hai, Head of the Bao Lam 4 Commune Police, stated that after the merger of Loc Phu, Loc Lam, and B'la communes, Bao Lam 4 is a large area with extensive forests and forestry land. The locality also has a large ethnic minority population (over 62%). The population is scattered, and their level of education, access to, and application of science and technology is still limited. These characteristics have had a certain impact on security and order, especially crime and violations of the law related to forest management and protection, drug trafficking, and family law.
