After a strenuous day of training, the soldiers finally had time to relax. Private Hoang Kim Tuyen, a soldier in Squad 2, Platoon 1, Company 1, Battalion 1, Regiment 6, was delighted when his unit commander allowed him to call his family via Zalo. Besides checking in with his relatives, Tuyen also shared about his academic and training achievements and the joys of military life.
Private Hoang Kim Tuyen shared: “My mother is home alone, her job is unstable, and life is difficult. So when I enlisted, I was very worried about my family. But through the Zalo group, I was able to call my mother to check on her situation. My mother also received information and felt more at ease. Her words of encouragement gave me more motivation to perform my duties well.”

Each company in the 6th Regiment established a Zalo group to connect unit officers with soldiers' families. To ensure the Zalo group's effectiveness, officers took photos, recorded, and edited videos of activities such as: cultural and artistic events, physical training, extracurricular activities, recreation, commendations of high-achieving comrades, and heartwarming stories about camaraderie and solidarity between officers and soldiers. In addition, on the Zalo group, unit commanders informed soldiers' families of necessary information such as: regulations on leave entitlements, military welfare policies, and regulations for families visiting soldiers. Thanks to the updated information in the Zalo group, soldiers' families felt reassured about their children's training and service at the unit, and could also report any unexpected or important matters at home to the unit commanders for timely resolution.
First Lieutenant Huynh Phuoc Thanh, Political Officer of Company 1, Battalion 1, shared: “Right from the time new soldiers enlist, we created QR codes so that when their relatives come to visit, they can scan the code and join the Zalo group. The unit also guides the content to help families exchange and share information effectively, and to inform relatives about the soldiers' learning and training results, thereby coordinating measures to educate and manage the soldiers well.”
The "Zalo group for supporting soldiers' families" has proven effective in promptly identifying and resolving issues arising in the education , management of ideological matters, discipline compliance, and social relationships of military personnel. Furthermore, the Zalo group has also played a positive role in preventing acts of impersonation of military officers to defraud and extort property from soldiers' relatives.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Duc Tri, Political Commissar of Regiment 6, the "Zalo group for soldiers' families" has yielded practical results. This is one of the information channels that helps Party committees and commanders at all levels better understand the family circumstances, thoughts, and feelings of soldiers, thereby accurately determining appropriate ideological management measures. The unit also promotes various forms of propaganda and education, leveraging the role of officers at all levels in closely monitoring soldiers, effectively combining general and individual education, and fostering consensus within the unit.
To ensure effective implementation in the future, the unit will continue to focus on training and improving the skills of its officers in using technology, methods, and techniques for understanding and managing ideology, as well as experience in forecasting, assessing, and resolving ideological situations, contributing to improving the quality of education and troop management. It can be seen that the "Zalo Group for the Support of Soldiers' Families" has initially had a positive effect, helping soldiers feel secure in their thoughts, giving them more motivation to strive, and successfully fulfill their assigned responsibilities and tasks.
