Brothers with the same ideals
We visited the family of Mr. Nguyen Van Han (Phuoc Thuong residential area, Nam Nha Trang ward) just as the atmosphere was at its most bustling with preparations for the conscription day. In their small house, the two brothers Nguyen Thanh Trieu Tan (born in 2006) and Nguyen Thanh Tan Tai (born in 2007) were carefully preparing their personal military equipment for their new journey.

Despite being the primary breadwinners with stable jobs as chefs, when they reached the age for compulsory military service, both brothers volunteered to enlist. Mr. Nguyen Van Han emotionally shared: “Our family has a revolutionary tradition, so when my sons expressed their desire to enlist, I was very proud. I told them to strive to train hard and fulfill their duties to the Fatherland.” For Trieu Tan and Tan Tai, putting aside their livelihoods to enlist was not only a responsibility but also a great honor.
Not far away, in Nha Trang ward, the story of brothers Pham Minh Thanh (born in 2006) and Pham Minh Truong (born in 2004) also inspires admiration. Originally promising young players for a third-division team in Khanh Hoa province, Thanh and Truong decided to temporarily set aside their passion for football to fulfill their youthful responsibilities in the military. “I believe that the military environment will be the best place to cultivate character, willpower, and discipline, helping us to mature,” affirmed Pham Minh Thanh with high determination.

Evaluating the proactive spirit of the youth, Comrade Luong Thanh Hai, Secretary of the Thanh Gia residential group's Party branch (Nha Trang ward), affirmed: "In recent years, the residential group has always excellently completed the recruitment and conscription of citizens into the military thanks to the close attention of the Party committee and government at all levels. The fact that the two brothers, Truong and Thanh, volunteered to enlist is very commendable, not only demonstrating personal responsibility but also contributing to strongly promoting the patriotic tradition of the locality."
Ready for the big day of youth!
Speaking with reporters, Lieutenant Colonel Huynh Thuong Giang, Commander of the Military Command of Nam Nha Trang Ward, said: "Although this is the first year implementing the two-tiered local government-led recruitment process, the Ward Military Command has advised the Military Service Council to carry out the recruitment fully, meticulously, and in accordance with principles. A highlight of this year's recruitment is the proactive spirit of the youth. In this locality alone, more than 50% of young people have volunteered to enlist. In particular, the political quality and educational level of citizens enlisting in 2026 in the ward have shown a clear improvement."
According to information from the Khanh Hoa Provincial Military Command, out of the total number of citizens enlisting in this recruitment drive, approximately 35% volunteered; the percentage of those with health classifications 1 and 2 reached nearly 50%; and the percentage of those with technical and professional qualifications ranging from intermediate to university level was quite high (accounting for about 13.7% for the military sector). This is an important foundation for building a strong and high-quality standing force and reserve mobilization force right from the grassroots level.

To date, all preparations for the 2026 military enlistment ceremony at 10 locations in Khanh Hoa province have been completed. The Khanh Hoa Provincial Military Command has advised local Party committees and authorities to effectively implement the military's welfare policies. Organizations at all levels in the province have organized visits and presented gifts (worth from 1 to 1.2 million VND per person) to young men enlisting in the military.
The provision of military equipment has also been completed 100%. Transportation plans and safety measures before, during, and after the troop handover ceremony have been closely coordinated between the units.
With thorough preparation and the determined spirit of outstanding individuals like the Tan and Tai brothers, and Thanh and Truong, we are confident that the localities of Khanh Hoa province will successfully complete the military recruitment task, contributing to building a revolutionary, regular, elite, and modern People's Army and People's Police.
