Rice prices have risen sharply again.

Today, March 3rd, rice prices in the Mekong Delta region are fluctuating, with a relatively strong market supply. Prices for all types of raw rice have increased again, while the price of fresh paddy remains stable.

Specifically, regarding rice, according to updates from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province, the price of raw OM 380 rice has increased by 250 VND/kg, fluctuating between 7,800 and 8,000 VND/kg; raw OM 18 rice has increased by 100 VND/kg, fluctuating between 9,300 and 9,500 VND/kg; raw IR 504 rice has increased, fluctuating between 8,100 and 8,200 VND/kg; raw 5451 rice is fluctuating between 8,500 and 8,600 VND/kg; finished OM 380 rice is fluctuating between 8,800 and 9,000 VND/kg; and finished IR 504 rice is fluctuating between 9,500 and 9,700 VND/kg.

Regarding by-products, prices range from approximately 5,550 to 7,300 VND/kg. Currently, the price of fragrant rice bran is fluctuating between 7,100 and 7,300 VND/kg; the price of dry rice bran is fluctuating between 5,550 and 5,700 VND/kg, compared to the end of last week.

Observations from various localities today show a fairly good supply and relatively stable prices. In Lap Vo ( Dong Thap ), the supply is higher, with a good amount of fragrant rice arriving, warehouses are buying at the same price, and prices are stable. In Sa Dec (Dong Thap), the supply is also better, warehouses are making inquiries, and all types of raw rice are priced at the same level.

At Sa Dec market canal (Dong Thap province), the amount of rice arriving at the docks is better, warehouses are selecting good quality rice for purchase, and prices are stable. At An Cu (Cai Be district, Tien Giang province ), the amount of rice is large, prices are stable, and warehouses are buying regularly.

At retail markets, rice prices remained stable compared to the weekend. Currently, Nang Nhen rice has the highest listed price at 28,000 VND/kg; regular rice ranges from 15,000 - 16,000 VND/kg; long-grain fragrant rice ranges from 20,000 - 22,000 VND/kg; Huong Lai rice is 22,000 VND/kg; Jasmine fragrant rice ranges from 18,000 - 20,000 VND/kg; Nang Hoa rice is at 22,000 VND/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice is 21,000 VND/kg; common white rice is at 17,000 VND/kg; regular Soc rice ranges from 18,000 VND/kg; Soc Thai rice is 21,000 VND/kg; and Japanese rice is 22,000 VND/kg.

Similarly, regarding rice, according to updates from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province, the current prices are as follows: OM 18 rice (fresh) ranges from 6,300 to 6,600 VND/kg; Dai Thom 8 rice (fresh) ranges from 6,300 to 6,600 VND/kg; OM 5451 rice (fresh) ranges from 6,000 VND/kg; IR 50404 rice (fresh) ranges from 5,500 to 5,700 VND/kg; OM 380 rice (fresh) ranges from 5,000 to 5,200 VND/kg; Nhat rice is at 7,800 to 8,000 VND/kg; and Nang Hoa 9 rice is at 9,200 VND/kg.

Observations in many localities today show a better volume of rice, but trading is slow. In An Giang, transactions for newly harvested rice are consistent, with lower-grade rice being in higher demand than other varieties, but the quantity is small and prices remain stable. In Hau Giang, farmers are offering a good quantity of rice, trading is consistent, and rice prices are stable.

In Soc Trang, rice harvests continue to be plentiful, prices of all types of rice remain stable, and trading is thriving. In Can Tho, there is little newly harvested rice that has not yet been staked; most has already been staked awaiting harvest, and prices of all types of rice are stable. In Hau Giang, farmers are offering rice for sale in good quantities, trading is more active, and rice prices are stable.

In Dong Thap, rice trading is booming, with relatively stable prices for all types of rice. Farmers are offering slightly higher prices for some high-quality rice fields. In Kien Giang, rice trading is also brisk, with stable prices.

On the export market, Vietnam's rice export prices remained unchanged today compared to the end of last week. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), the current price for 5% broken rice is $393/ton; 25% broken rice is $367/ton; and 100% broken rice is $310/ton.
