The "connected but isolated" generation
Gen Alpha is the first generation born in the "digital age," growing up with the internet, AI, and tablets. But does unlimited connectivity truly grant this generation freedom? A child might text friends all day, but struggle with face-to-face communication. They can access vast amounts of knowledge with a click, but lack the real-world experiences needed to develop independent thinking.
Are academic pressure, dependence on technology, and a lack of opportunities to explore the world turning the Alpha generation into a "connected but isolated" generation? Without change, we will have a generation that is tech-savvy but lacks life skills, intelligent but prone to loneliness, knowledgeable but struggling to adapt to the real world.
So, are Alpha genes being stifled by academic pressure and technology? Is it time we found a way out for future generations?
The concerns of Millennial parents
![]() |
According to statistics, the school year in Vietnam lasts approximately 35 weeks, equivalent to 175 school days, with a packed schedule and high academic demands. Many students, after school, continue to attend evening and weekend tutoring classes, resulting in a total study time of 50-60 hours per week, higher than the average in many developed countries. For many children, summer is not a time for rest, but a continued academic "race." This not only creates mental stress but also limits time for play and holistic development.
Furthermore, the explosion of digital technology has changed how children access the world. A UNICEF survey shows that 82% of Vietnamese children aged 12-13 use the internet daily. For those aged 14-15, this number rises to 93%. Vietnamese children spend 5-7 hours a day on social media. Excessive exposure to technology not only affects physical health but also causes psychological problems such as anxiety, depression, and reduced ability to communicate in person.
Faced with this situation, many Millennial parents – Generation Y with a different mindset – realize that forcing their children to attend extra classes throughout the summer is not the optimal solution. They also don't want their children spending too much time in front of screens. They not only want their children to excel academically but also to gain practical experience and develop soft skills. They are seeking a new educational approach where children can relax while developing skills naturally. And this need is more urgent than ever.
Select “Studycation” – Choose a new educational model

The solution to this problem doesn't lie in completely eliminating technology or returning to traditional educational methods. Families have turned to summer programs that combine learning and experience, helping children develop holistically in terms of thinking, social skills, and adaptability.
A 12-year-old girl in Hanoi last year participated in a summer program with a multinational group of friends as a way to learn while having fun. “My daughter had a summer vacation that, according to her, was ‘absolutely wonderful.’ She learned so much from practical experience, developed her artistic talent, and most importantly, she became much more outgoing and confident. She had enough confidence to present her project to many other friends. I sensed her positive energy and happiness,” Ms. Nhung (Hoan Kiem District) happily shared when recalling her daughter's summer last year.
This is a summer program following the "Studycation" trend, combining study and vacation, helping children not only acquire knowledge but also learn how to apply it to real life. And it's time for Generation Alpha to have a truly meaningful summer – a place where they can learn, play, and explore the real world.
A summer designed specifically for Alpha generation with ILA Summer Never Ends 2025.

Most traditional summer camps focus solely on fun, entertainment, or a few isolated extracurricular activities. In contrast, ILA Summer Never Ends 2025, with its experiential education model of "Studycation," will provide children with an exciting time, not only for learning but also for experiencing, exploring, and developing global thinking skills.
Through research and understanding of trends, educators at ILA – which has over 30 years of experience – have realized that children today cannot learn solely from books but need to be equipped with practical knowledge and skills.
Therefore, ILA's summer program focuses on core elements: equipping children with 100% English communication skills to integrate with international friends and easily absorb global knowledge. Through opportunities to connect with international friends and work in teams in multicultural activities, children will develop adaptability.
Furthermore, by participating in practical, highly applicable projects, children will acquire knowledge more actively, learn how to solve problems, and develop critical thinking skills. Artistic, sports, and performance activities within the program will help children explore their potential, express their talents, and unleash their creativity.
Academics are the foundation, but critical thinking, creativity, teamwork skills, and effective communication are key to children's success. Generation Alpha cannot grow up surrounded by screens and books; they need opportunities to experience, to make mistakes, to challenge themselves, and to step outside their comfort zones.
Let ILA Summer Never Ends 2025 open the door to a meaningful summer – where children learn, play, and grow! Many parents have chosen ILA Summer Never Ends 2025 and received early registration scholarships of up to 14 million VND to help their children excel – what about you?
