This development occurred in the context of the harvest being significantly slowed down due to unfavorable weather.

Heavy rains, floods and landslides in the Central Highlands have brought many coffee production areas to a standstill, raising concerns about coffee production and bean quality, especially as a new storm is forecast to approach.

Farmers face many challenges
Prolonged adverse weather during the crucial harvest period has hit coffee growers hard. Continuous rains have left ripe coffee cherries unharvestable, while strong winds have caused the fruit to fall, causing further damage.
In addition to the difficulties caused by natural disasters, farmers also face a shortage of workers. Many households have to take advantage of the rare dry periods to harvest themselves. Purchasing businesses are also waiting for more stable weather to organize workers.
