Domestic rice prices
In the Mekong Delta provinces, rice and paddy trading has slowed down, with prices of some varieties continuing to adjust slightly downwards. OM 5451 paddy is currently down 200 VND/kg to 5,700 – 6,000 VND/kg; OM 18 paddy (fresh) has decreased by 100 VND to 6,100 VND/kg. Other varieties such as Nang Hoa 9, Dai Thom 8, IR 50404, and OM 380 maintain stable prices, fluctuating from 5,200 to 6,750 VND/kg depending on the variety.
The raw rice market also remained stable, with IR 504 at 7,900 - 8,100 VND/kg; OM 5451 at 9,450 - 9,550 VND/kg; and Jasmine at 17,000 - 18,000 VND/kg. Transactions in An Giang , Dong Thap, and Tien Giang provinces were sluggish, with small quantities arriving at warehouses and low demand.
At local markets, retail rice prices remain stable. Popular fragrant rice is priced at 18,000 - 22,000 VND/kg; Jasmine rice maintains its price at 22,000 VND/kg; and regular rice is at 15,000 - 16,000 VND/kg. Nang Nhen rice continues to be the most expensive item, fluctuating around 28,000 VND/kg.
Prices for various types of glutinous rice remained unchanged compared to yesterday. Fresh and dried glutinous rice stayed within the range of 7,700 - 8,000 VND/kg; while IR 4625 glutinous rice (dried) reached a high of 9,700 - 9,900 VND/kg.
Today, the price of rice bran surged by 450 VND/kg, reaching 7,900 - 8,200 VND/kg. Meanwhile, the price of rice husk remained at 1,000 - 1,150 VND/kg, and OM 5451 broken rice traded at 7,400 - 7,500 VND/kg.

Export rice prices
According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), Vietnam's export rice prices remained stable today. Specifically, 5% broken rice was priced at US$388/ton, a slight decrease of US$8 compared to last week; 25% broken rice remained stable at US$364/ton; and 100% broken rice maintained US$318/ton.
According to Reuters, the Asian rice market saw a significant decline this week due to oversupply pressure and weak import demand from key markets.
In India, the price of parboiled rice with 5% broken grains has fallen to just $378-$384 per ton – the lowest level in two years. White rice with 5% broken grains has dropped to $372-$377 per ton. The main reason is the excessively large national reserves, reaching 59.5 million tons (as of June 1st), more than four times the government 's target of 13.5 million tons. Despite continuous price reductions, demand remains sluggish as buyers await further price drops.
In Thailand, the price of 5% broken rice fell from $410 to $398 per ton, due to the weak baht and declining demand. Notably, the Philippines – one of the region's largest customers – cut back on imports, while Indonesia unexpectedly shifted to exporting, leading to a localized oversupply in Southeast Asia.
In Vietnam, despite high-quality rice and a major harvest season, the price of 5% broken rice remains under downward pressure. Rice exports in May fell by nearly 10% compared to the same period last year, reflecting a slowdown in international consumption. Domestic traders stated: "Supply is good, but major markets are not increasing orders, making it difficult to maintain prices."
In Bangladesh, a similar situation is occurring. The government increased domestic procurement prices by 9%, but this was still not attractive enough for farmers because market prices were higher. The procurement plan therefore faced difficulties.
