Rice prices today, June 2nd: Raw rice prices drop sharply.

Rice prices in the Mekong Delta region today, June 2nd, 2025, are fluctuating. Market supply is low, domestic rice prices are relatively stable, fresh paddy prices remain steady, while some raw rice varieties have seen a sharp decrease compared to last week.

Regarding rice, according to updates from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province, the price of IR 504 raw rice has decreased by 400 VND/kg, fluctuating between 7,700 and 7,900 VND/kg; CL 555 raw rice has decreased by 300 VND/kg, fluctuating between 8,300 and 8,400 VND/kg; OM 380 raw rice fluctuates between 7,950 and 8,050 VND/kg; 5451 raw rice fluctuates between 9,450 and 9,550 VND/kg; OM 18 raw rice fluctuates between 10,200 and 10,400 VND/kg; and finished OM 380 rice fluctuates between 8,800 and 9,000 VND/kg. The price of finished IR 504 rice ranges from 9,500 to 9,700 VND/kg.

Regarding by-products, prices fluctuate between 7,500 and 10,000 VND/kg. Currently, OM 504 broken rice is priced at 7,500 - 7,600 VND/kg; and rice bran is priced at 9,000 - 10,000 VND/kg, compared to yesterday.

Reports from various localities today indicate that rice varieties 50404 and OM 380 are in short supply, prices have fallen, and warehouses are slow to purchase. In An Giang , the supply is low, transactions are slow, and prices are fluctuating. In Lap Vo (Dong Thap), the supply is sporadic, and prices for all types of rice are slightly fluctuating. In Sa Dec (Dong Thap), buying and selling transactions are slow, and prices are relatively stable.

At Sa Dec market (Dong Thap province), the supply is low, warehouses are slow to buy, and prices for all types of rice remain stable. At An Cu (Cai Be district, Tien Giang province ), the supply is sporadic, transactions remain slow, and prices fluctuate.

At retail markets, rice prices remained unchanged compared to the weekend. Currently, Nang Nhen rice is listed highest at 28,000 VND/kg; regular rice ranges from 14,000 - 15,000 VND/kg; Jasmine fragrant rice ranges from 16,000 - 18,000 VND/kg; common white rice is at 16,000 VND/kg; regular Soc rice ranges from 16,000 - 17,000 VND/kg; long-grain Thai fragrant rice ranges from 20,000 - 22,000 VND/kg; Huong Lai rice is 22,000 VND/kg; Nang Hoa rice is at 21,000 VND/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice is 20,000 VND/kg; Soc Thai rice is 20,000 VND/kg; and Japanese rice is 22,000 VND/kg.

Regarding rice, according to updates from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province, the current price of IR 50404 rice (fresh) ranges from 5,400 to 5,600 VND/kg; OM 5451 rice (fresh) ranges from 6,000 to 6,400 VND/kg; OM 380 rice (fresh) ranges from 5,200 to 5,400 VND/kg; Dai Thom 8 rice (fresh) is at 6,800 VND/kg; OM 18 rice (fresh) is at 6,800 VND/kg; and Nang Hoa 9 rice ranges from 6,650 to 6,750 VND/kg.

Observations in many localities today show that dry rice trading is slow, and prices remain stable; the early-season summer-autumn rice supply is low, and prices tend to decrease. In Can Tho, trading has resumed sporadically, with many traders inquiring about buying rice again, and prices are stable. In Kien Giang, the early-season summer-autumn rice supply is being harvested sporadically, traders are slow to buy, and prices remain stable.

In An Giang, farmers are reporting a steady supply of summer-autumn rice, with traders buying sporadically and prices showing little fluctuation. In Long An, transactions for new rice remain slow, and prices are relatively stable. In Dong Thap, new purchasing power is slow, and prices are stagnant.

On the export market, Vietnamese rice export prices remained unchanged compared to the end of the week. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), the current price of 5% broken rice is $397/ton; 25% broken rice is $368/ton; and 100% broken rice is $325/ton.
