Gold prices on June 4th: Continuing to plummet.

GD&TĐ - Domestic gold prices fell sharply across the board on June 4th, while world gold prices continued their deep decline.

Gold bar price

SJC, Bao Tin Minh Chau, Bao Tin Manh Hai, PNJ, and DOJI listed the buying price at 154 million VND/ounce and the selling price at 157 million VND/ounce, a decrease of 500,000 VND/ounce in both directions compared to yesterday morning.

Phu Quy is buying gold at 154 million VND/ounce, down 200,000 VND/ounce compared to yesterday morning; and selling it at 157 million VND/ounce, down 500,000 VND/ounce compared to yesterday morning.

Mi Hong listed gold at 154 million VND/ounce for buying and 156.5 million VND/ounce for selling.

Gold ring prices

SJC listed the buying price at 153.8 million VND/ounce and the selling price at 156.8 million VND/ounce, a decrease of 500,000 VND/ounce in both directions compared to yesterday morning.

Bao Tin Minh Chau, DOJI, and PNJ traded at 154-157 million VND/ounce (buy-sell), a decrease of 500,000 VND/ounce in both buying and selling prices.

Phu Quy gold is trading at 154 million VND/ounce for buying and 157 million VND/ounce for selling, a decrease of 200,000 VND/ounce in both directions compared to yesterday morning.

World gold prices

According to Kitco, the spot price of gold in the world market at 5:00 AM on June 4, 2026 (Vietnam time) was $4,449.9 per ounce, down $37.2 per ounce compared to yesterday.

Based on the Vietcombank exchange rate of 26,398 VND/USD, the world gold price is equivalent to approximately 141.6 million VND/ounce (excluding taxes and fees). The current price of SJC gold bars is about 15.4 million VND/ounce higher than the world gold price.

According to Kitco News, spot gold prices fell sharply after yesterday's close, as rising crude oil prices, higher Treasury yields, and escalating tensions between the US and Iran put pressure on non-yielding metals.

Analysts say the current impact on gold is twofold. On the one hand, geopolitical instability and the risk of energy transport disruptions are helping gold maintain its defensive appeal. On the other hand, a strong US dollar and high oil prices are limiting the precious metal's upward momentum.
