To achieve the goal of improving the quality of preschool education in a holistic manner, Hop Thanh Preschool has proactively innovated the content and methods of organizing educational activities linked to real-life situations and local culture. In particular, incorporating traditional crafts of ethnic groups living in the area, such as incense making by the Giay people and rice flake making by the Tay people, into experiential learning lessons is a creative approach that yields practical results and contributes to fostering cultural awareness in children from a young age.

According to Ms. Vu Thi Xuan Thu, Principal of Hop Thanh Kindergarten, the traditional craft lessons are organized flexibly by the school, suitable to the actual conditions and psychology of the children. The classroom space is arranged vividly with familiar materials associated with daily life, such as bamboo, reeds, sticky rice, banana leaves, incense powder, etc.
The lesson content is delivered in a way that is manageable and not overly theoretical, helping children easily absorb the material, confidently communicate, and actively participate in discussions. In addition, children gradually develop an understanding of traditional crafts, realizing that creating a familiar product in daily life requires a laborious process demanding perseverance, skill, and meticulous attention to detail.
During the lessons, under the guidance of teachers, children are introduced to and directly participate in experiencing some simple steps of traditional crafts. They try their hand at mixing incense powder, rolling rice flakes, and sifting rice under the guidance and support of teachers and artisans. Although their movements are still clumsy, the excitement and passion are clearly visible on each child's face. These hands-on experiences not only bring joy but also help children develop dexterity, coordination, cooperation, and initiative in group activities.

Besides organizing hands-on experiences, Hop Thanh Kindergarten also proactively applies information technology and artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance the visual aspect of lessons. Through the creation of images and characters such as "Giay children" and "Tay children" with costumes, language, and stories related to local culture, teachers have created more interest for children, helping them to easily access and remember the content naturally. The harmonious combination of traditional elements and modern technology contributes to improving educational effectiveness, aligning with the requirements of educational reform in the current period.
Teacher Lu Thuy Nguyen from Hop Thanh Kindergarten shared: "Integrating traditional crafts into lessons has created a noticeable change in the classroom atmosphere. When learning through hands-on experience, children are very enthusiastic, focused, and more proactive."

Through these lessons, activities related to traditional crafts help children develop motor skills, language skills, and communication skills, while also fostering an appreciation for labor and a deeper understanding of their local culture. This is considered an important foundation in character education, cultivating love for their homeland, and instilling a sense of community in children from their early years.
Evaluating the effectiveness of the model, teacher Vu Thi Xuan Thu further emphasized: "The school has determined that early childhood education should not only focus on care and nurturing but also on cultural education and forming fundamental values for children."
Through hands-on experiences with traditional crafts, we hope to instill in children a love for their homeland and pride in their local cultural identity, thereby contributing to the preservation and promotion of traditional values from their roots.

Based on the positive results from the model, in the future, the school will continue to integrate local cultural education into the curriculum through age-appropriate experiential activities; strengthen cooperation with artisans and those knowledgeable about the cultures of ethnic groups to enrich teaching content. At the same time, the school will continue to apply information technology and digital technology to enhance the visual and engaging nature of lessons, helping children access traditional culture naturally and effectively.
