Huynh Ha (born in 2001, Song Kon commune) is a Co Tu rapper, who started composing music in 2022. He sees music as a means to tell stories about his homeland, the resilient Co Tu people, and the unmistakable pride of national identity.
His compositions such as: Ma'nuih Katu (The Co Tu People), How ve broanh (How much is enough), Rau kieng mon (What I want to say)... have clearly expressed that message. Among them, the song Ma'nuih Katu is considered the most impressive. This is a rap song with a modern feel, telling about national pride, working spirit, moral values and aspirations of the Co Tu people. The song is both Huynh Ha's self-introduction and a message to the youth: love your language, culture, roots and respect each other more.
Meanwhile, a group of students from FPT University Da Nang implemented the project "Co Tu-Gether" with the goal of promoting the traditional culture of the Co Tu people in the context of strong development of modern media.
The project combines multi-platform communication and direct experiential activities, helping young people aged 18 to 24 in Da Nang access Co Tu culture both in digital and physical environments.
The project is implemented in 3 main phases: “Sitting together and chatting” is a multi-platform communication campaign with a series of social network content, aiming to introduce cultural characteristics such as traditional craft villages, art and cuisine of the Co Tu people through trends that are easily accessible to young people. Including design images, intuitive short videos; “Walking together in the village” focuses on premiering music videos and organizing events to experience the Co Tu cultural space; “Bringing stories home together” launches the project's official website, introduces Co Tu cultural documents, expands access and spreads information to the public.
Nguyen Thi Phuong Na, Head of the “Co Tu-Gether” project, said: “The group wishes to create a bridge between the traditional culture of the Co Tu people and the young generation in the digital age. Accordingly, the project tries to combine modern forms of communication with the most authentic experiences in the village to create a spread, joining hands to preserve the traditional culture of the highlands.”
Mr. Alang Nhu, Director of the Cooperative and Community Tourism of Ta Lang - Gian Bi village (Hai Van ward) said: “The “Co Tu-Gether” project not only helps to honor and preserve the cultural identity of the Co Tu ethnic group, but also opens up opportunities to promote it to domestic and international friends. I hope that there will be more units, projects and organizations joining in, creating momentum for sustainable development, contributing to preserving and promoting indigenous cultural values before the risk of extinction”.
