According to Mr. Doan Thanh Cong, Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, Chairman of the Provincial Youth Federation, and Head of the Youth Union and Youth Affairs Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province: To ensure the smooth operation of youth union work and youth movements after the restructuring, immediately after the district and city youth unions completed their tasks, the Provincial Youth Union advised on the consolidation of the executive committee, standing committee, inspection committee, and key positions at the 65 newly established commune and ward youth unions and 5 affiliated units. At the same time, the Provincial Youth Union actively organized training courses to improve the skills and expertise of youth union officials and brought programs to the grassroots level to maintain the smooth flow of volunteer activities.
Recognizing that enhancing the capacity of grassroots youth union officials is a key task, the Provincial Youth Union has intensified training and professional guidance. Training courses equipping staff with skills in youth union, association, and team work are regularly organized with the participation and support of experienced youth union officials. Simultaneously, the Provincial Youth Union has also promoted the application of digital technology , providing a unified system of forms and maintaining 24/7 online exchange groups, helping commune-level youth union officials promptly resolve issues, strengthen their skills, and be more proactive in advising and organizing activities.
Beyond just skill development, the Provincial Youth Union directly brings volunteer programs to the grassroots level. Commune-level Youth Union officials participate in practical activities, observing how to organize, handle situations, and mobilize Youth Union members across a wide area. Whenever activities are implemented in a commune, Youth Union officials from neighboring communes are invited to attend, creating opportunities for mutual learning and enhancing organizational capacity. Furthermore, the "three linkages" model (linking forces, linking areas, and linking communities) has proven effective, ensuring coordinated efforts and maintaining a continuous flow of volunteer activities from the provincial level to the grassroots.
According to Mr. On Van Tuyen, Secretary of the Chau Son Commune Youth Union: Chau Son was formed by merging five administrative units. The large geographical area and dispersed youth have made initial work challenging. Through training and guidance from the Central Youth Union and the Provincial Youth Union, I have mastered the necessary skills in managing Youth Union members and organizing activities. From July 2025 to the present, the commune's Youth Union has organized five "Green Sunday" and "Volunteer Saturday" events, attracting over 100 Youth Union members and young people to participate.
With their accumulated experience and skills, grassroots youth union officials have quickly adapted to new requirements, proactively applying technology and digital transformation in managing union members and organizing propaganda activities; flexibly mobilizing resources and building movements suitable to the conditions of their units. Immediately after the two-tiered local government model came into operation, grassroots youth union branches deployed 71 volunteer teams with 3,400 youth union members and young people participating, assisting over 65,000 Party members and citizens in carrying out administrative procedures and using digital applications. Simultaneously, volunteer movements have been continuously, synchronously, and effectively implemented. From the beginning of 2025 to the present, youth union branches at all levels throughout the province have organized more than 300 youth projects and activities. The total resources mobilized for these programs amounted to over 5 billion VND, attracting thousands of youth union members and young people to participate.
Ms. Tran Thi Moc, from Goc Sau village, Thien Tan commune, said: "Typhoon No. 11 completely destroyed my family's house. During that difficult time, youth union members promptly came to provide financial assistance, medicine, and basic necessities for daily life. This helped my family overcome difficulties and quickly stabilize our lives to recover from the aftermath of the storm."
With a proactive spirit and a willingness to take on new and challenging tasks, we believe that in the coming time, grassroots youth union officials will continue to make positive contributions to the youth movement as well as the socio-economic development of the locality.
