Visiting Can Dang commune today, one can easily sense the significant changes in this area, which was once heavily impacted by war. Upholding revolutionary traditions, the Party Committee, government, and people of the commune have united and strived to overcome difficulties, gradually building a comprehensively developed homeland. Infrastructure is increasingly improved; schools, health stations, and cultural facilities have been invested in and upgraded. Many cultural and sports centers are fully equipped, meeting the needs of the people for recreation, entertainment, and health training. Festivals are organized solemnly, economically, and in accordance with regulations; civilized lifestyles in weddings, funerals, and festivals have seen many positive changes.
In Can Thuan hamlet, the rural landscape has changed dramatically with spacious houses, sturdy bridges and roads, and a bright, green, clean, and beautiful environment. The people's awareness of preserving cultural traditions is also increasing. Mr. Nguyen Van Tung (62 years old), a resident of Can Thuan hamlet, shared: “The rural landscape has changed a lot compared to before. As family economies develop, people have more opportunities to enjoy culture, participate in social activities, and contribute to building a more prosperous homeland.”
In Hoa Loi 1 hamlet, the work of building a cultural life at the grassroots level has brought about positive changes. Ms. Nguyen Thi Be Tam, Secretary of the Hoa Loi 1 Hamlet Party Branch, said that the work of building a cultural hamlet has been implemented with many specific methods, closely linked to the daily lives of the people. The Party Committee and the People's Committee of the hamlet regularly mobilize the people to maintain environmental hygiene and practice civilized lifestyles in weddings, funerals, and festivals. At the same time, they encourage the building of cultural families, living with compassion and solidarity. "All matters related to the people are implemented on the basis of promoting democracy. The content is discussed openly so that people understand and agree to participate, from maintaining environmental hygiene and building a civilized lifestyle to responding to patriotic emulation movements," Ms. Tam said.
According to Nguyen Thi Mai Thu, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Dang commune, in recent years, the movement for national unity in building a cultured life has always been implemented by the local Party committee and government in conjunction with the implementation of the National Target Program for building new rural areas. The movement has spread widely and received positive responses from a large number of people, with many exemplary models such as women's flower-lined roads, bright, green, clean and beautiful roads, self-management of security and order, security cameras, free ambulance services, self-management of traffic safety, peaceful parishes, harmonious families, united, safe and happy residential areas, community-based self-management of the environment, and fundraising for funeral expenses. Regarding the charitable house-building group… Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Thu shared: “Many exemplary models have become shining examples, receiving support and active participation from all levels, sectors, society, and people, contributing to improving the quality of cultural titles. To date, the percentage of cultural families in the entire commune has reached 97.7%; 100% of agencies, units, and schools have met cultural standards.”
In the coming period, Can Dang commune will continue to promote propaganda, focus on innovating content, and constantly improve the quality of the movement for national unity in building a cultured life. The commune will strengthen the mobilization of social resources to regularly organize cultural, artistic, and sports activities, contributing to raising the level of cultural enjoyment for the people in the area.
