In Minh Tan hamlet, U Minh Thuong commune, almost everyone knows Mr. Danh Ut (62 years old), a respected and exemplary figure. A model Party member who practices what he preaches, Mr. Ut is always close to and connected with the people, actively contributing to the local development. Through his words and concrete actions, he becomes an effective bridge between the Party committee, the government, and the people. Thanks to this, the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws are conveyed in a way that is accessible and appropriate to the customs and traditions of each ethnic group.
According to Mr. Ut, to effectively mobilize people to implement the policy, he consistently adheres to the motto "going to every alley, knocking on every door." During village meetings or community activities of the Khmer people, he disseminates information and explains things to ensure understanding and agreement. He also regularly monitors the thoughts and aspirations of the people, especially those in difficult circumstances, to promptly recommend support from the government. He even readily lends money to people as capital to develop their family businesses . "Being trusted by the people is a joy and also a motivation for me to try harder. My family always sets a good example, takes the lead, and shares our business experience to create consensus within the community," Mr. Ut shared.

Also a shining example, Mr. Tran Van Dong (71 years old), residing in Cai Nhum hamlet, Vinh Phong commune, is always at the forefront of grassroots movements. Despite his advanced age, he actively encourages people to build culturally exemplary families, maintain the title of culturally exemplary hamlet, and gradually eliminate outdated customs in weddings and funerals, moving towards a civilized lifestyle while preserving the cultural identity of the Khmer people. As a respected figure, Mr. Dong actively promotes and encourages people to participate in building new rural areas, maintaining security and order, and combating social evils. Mr. Dong shared: “A respected figure must be exemplary and lead in all activities. At the same time, they must help people understand and follow what is right and progressive, preserve the national cultural identity, and build a better life.”
Not only is Mr. Dong skilled in mobilization, but he is also a pioneer in developing family-based economic activities. Given the limited land and resources, he boldly experimented with a mink farming model, then provided technical guidance and shared his experience with other villagers. As a result, many households have gradually escaped poverty and stabilized their lives. Mr. Thai Van Tu, Deputy Head of the Cai Nhum Hamlet Leadership Board, said: “Previously, Cai Nhum Hamlet had over 40 poor households, but now there are only 7 poor households and 18 near-poor households. This result is thanks to Mr. Dong's contribution.”
Reputable individuals not only play a crucial role in mass mobilization work but are also a core factor in economic development and the construction of new rural areas in ethnic minority regions. Through their prestige, exemplary conduct, and sense of responsibility, they contribute to changing perceptions, eliminating outdated customs, introducing science and technology into production, and improving the income and living standards of the people. Leveraging the role of reputable individuals is tantamount to harnessing the inherent strength of the community. When the "Party's will" blends with the "people's will," it forms a solid foundation for the sustainable development of remote areas and ethnic minority regions, maintaining political stability and social order and security.
