Taking on the role of Secretary of the Son Kien Commune Youth Union during a period of significant organizational changes, Ms. Ngo Mong Trinh determined that maintaining the appeal of the movement must begin with concrete actions that meet the practical needs of the local people and youth.
Recognizing that many youth union members are studying or working far from home, making it difficult to maintain traditional activities, Ms. Trinh innovated the methods of gathering young people, building models that are close to and suitable for the needs of young people, including the "Youth Coffee Corner" model, which was launched at the end of May 2026. "The model was created with the desire to build a friendly meeting place where young people can meet and exchange ideas about studying, working, starting businesses, digital transformation, or contributing ideas to the local community. From there, the Youth Union can listen to the thoughts and aspirations of young people to have more appropriate activities," Ms. Trinh said.
Ms. Trinh also regularly visits local communities, meets with youth union members, understands their concerns, and proactively connects with social resources to implement meaningful programs. A highlight of Son Kien commune's Youth Month in 2026 was the launch program with a total resource of 265 million VND. The commune's youth union awarded scholarships to poor students, supported a mudless eel farming startup model, mobilized resources to build two charitable houses, and donated youth projects to schools in the area…
Having received support for a charitable house, Ms. Thi Hanh, residing in Vam Rang hamlet, said: “Ms. Trinh visited many times and saw that my family was in very difficult circumstances. Our house had been dilapidated for many years, but we lacked the means to repair it, so she mobilized funds to help me build a new house. I am very grateful for the care and help of Ms. Trinh and the local youth union members,” Ms. Hanh expressed.
Ms. Trinh also focuses on activities that support young people in economic development, digital transformation, and improving professional skills. The commune's Youth Union established a "Digital Literacy Team" with 20 members, assisting over 500 people in completing online administrative procedures. Ms. Trinh also spearheaded two "Lighting Up Rural Roads" projects in Vam Rang and Xeo Tram hamlets, installing 150 lampposts with a total cost of 415 million VND, contributing to changing the rural landscape, facilitating travel for residents, and ensuring security and order in the area.
In Can Dang commune, Ms. Nguyen Huynh Nhu, the Secretary of the Commune Youth Union, is well-known among its members for her dedication and perseverance. For her, Youth Union work is not just about organizing activities to meet targets, but about creating an environment where young people can contribute, grow, and make a difference to the local community.
From the beginning of 2026, when developing the Youth Month plan, Ms. Nhu and the Executive Committee of the Commune Youth Union proactively reviewed the actual needs in each hamlet, assigned specific tasks to each branch, and actively mobilized resources to implement activities related to people's lives. As a result, the commune's Youth Month activities were implemented synchronously, attracting over 85% of union members to participate. The commune carried out many meaningful projects and activities such as mobilizing resources to build two new charitable houses with a total cost of 120 million VND; implementing a "Youth Nursery" project worth 10 million VND; supporting one young person in accessing 100 million VND in capital from the Social Policy Bank to develop a cattle farming model; and donating 110 gifts to disadvantaged students with a total value of approximately 25 million VND. "Young people today have many opportunities but also face many challenges. What I hope is that every Youth Union activity will be truly close to the needs of young people, so that they see the role of the Youth Union organization and are ready to participate and contribute," Ms. Nhu shared.
The achievements not only demonstrate the sense of responsibility of young people but also show the proactiveness and flexibility of Youth Union officials in organizing movements, connecting resources, and creating an environment for young people to发挥 their pioneering role.
