Keeping Tet warm and joyful for workers.

From gifts and support packages to visits and acts of sharing, they are adding warmth to help workers celebrate the spring festival fully.

The Provincial Federation of Labor (LĐLĐ) has identified caring for union members and workers during Tet (Lunar New Year) as a key political task and a heartfelt imperative of the trade union organization. In recent days, activities to care for union members and workers throughout the province have been vibrant, with many practical and heartwarming initiatives. The Provincial Federation of Labor has allocated funds to distribute 12,500 Tet gifts to union members and workers in difficult circumstances, totaling 12.5 billion VND. This includes 12,000 gifts for those facing hardship, occupational diseases, or serious illnesses, and 500 gifts to support those in difficult circumstances performing their duties on New Year's Eve of the Year of the Horse 2026 (each gift worth 1 million VND).

The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL) donated 3.685 billion VND to support union members and workers in the province during the Lunar New Year. Specifically, the VGCL allocated 5,600 online shopping vouchers worth 2.8 billion VND to the "Tet Market" and provided 450 gift packages to support disadvantaged union members and workers in the province, totaling 885 million VND.

To ensure timely support for the Lunar New Year, the Provincial Federation of Labor Unions distributed gifts to grassroots trade unions for direct delivery to union members and workers. Simultaneously, the Provincial Federation of Labor Unions organized three working groups, led by members of the Provincial Federation of Labor Unions' Standing Committee, to directly visit, encourage, and present gifts to 600 union members and workers in difficult circumstances across 30 enterprise-level trade unions.

Following the delegation of Party and State leaders, central ministries and agencies, and the Standing Committee of the Provincial Labor Union, we visited companies, enterprises, and factories to extend New Year greetings to union members and workers. We heard union members and workers share their joy and excitement at receiving the care and attention of the trade union organization in the bustling atmosphere leading up to Tet. Ms. Le Thi Xuan Chon, a union member of Kien Hung Joint Stock Company, shared: “I am very moved to receive Tet gifts from the trade union organization. The gifts demonstrate the practical care and attention that the trade union organization has for the workers. I will continue to be committed, work hard, and contribute to building a stronger and more prosperous company.”

The "Tet Reunion - Spring Gratitude to the Party" program, held in Long Xuyen and Rach Gia wards, was a highlight in a series of activities to care for union members and workers during Tet, featuring many lively activities such as cultural performances celebrating the Party and the spring, folk games, sports competitions, and group exchanges; and giving gifts to union members and workers in difficult circumstances. Along with the provincial level, grassroots trade unions actively cared for union members and workers at their units with many practical activities such as organizing visits and gift-giving; coordinating with employers to provide Tet bonuses, organizing year-end meals, supporting transportation tickets, and giving Tet gifts… creating a widespread care network from the provincial to the grassroots level.

Mr. Le Chi Dung, Chairman of the Trade Union of Kien Hung Joint Stock Company, said that by this time, all activities to take care of the Tet holiday for the company's union members and employees have been completed so that the union members and employees can welcome the new spring in a warmer and more prosperous way. “This year, the company is rewarding each employee with two months' 13th-month salary, and giving each union member and employee a gift worth 600,000 VND. The grassroots trade union is giving each member a gift worth 510,000 VND. The company's Board of Directors and the trade union are organizing a "Trade Union Year-End Dinner" for 500 union members and employees to foster camaraderie,” Mr. Le Chi Dung said.

Having worked for Kien Hung Joint Stock Company for over 8 years, Ms. Pham Thi Thu Thuy lives with her younger sister's family and shoulders the responsibility of caring for her elderly, ailing mother. Despite a relatively stable income, Ms. Thuy often faces difficult circumstances. Her mother is seriously ill and unable to walk, requiring assistance with all personal activities. Her younger sister stays home to care for their mother, and her brother-in-law works as a motorbike taxi driver with an unstable income. Therefore, Ms. Thuy is responsible for all household expenses, medicine, her mother's supplies, and her nephew's education. "Every Tet holiday, the company and the union take very thoughtful and timely care of the workers so that we can enjoy the spring and celebrate Tet. This year, receiving gifts makes me very happy and warm-hearted," Ms. Thuy shared.

The thoughtful and practical care demonstrates the efforts and determination of trade unions at all levels, the government, businesses, and the entire society, with the desire for union members and workers to enjoy a more fulfilling Lunar New Year. In the coming time, the An Giang Trade Union will continue to promote its role in representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers, contributing to building harmonious, stable, and progressive labor relations and successfully achieving the socio-economic development goals of the province.
