We arrived at Loc Thanh Border Guard Post ( Dong Nai Provincial Border Guard) on a day close to the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Horse. Spring sunshine stretched across the border. Occasionally, gentle breezes blew in from the mountains, carrying the scent and colors of spring flowers, refreshing our hearts and evoking the feeling of the New Year.

The patrol team of Loc Thanh Border Guard Station is preparing to carry out its mission.

Lieutenant Colonel Pham Quang Nga, Commander of Loc Thanh Border Guard Station, said: "This Tet holiday, in addition to the task of taking care of the material and spiritual lives of the people in the border area through programs such as 'Spring Border Guard: Warming the Hearts of the People's Villages' and 'Tet of Compassion in the Border Regions of the Fatherland,' we also maintain a force on standby for combat readiness; coordinating with Loc Thinh Commune Police and other militia, security forces, and forest rangers to organize patrols along the border, in areas with trails and open routes, and on key roads, covering the entire area to maintain peace for the people in the border region."

Following the soldiers on patrol along the border, we felt the atmosphere of the mountains and forests in early spring and the spirit of serving the people. After the order to deploy for patrol by Lieutenant Nguyen Phu Quy, Head of Post No. 5, Loc Thinh Border Gate Border Guard Station (Dong Nai Provincial Border Guard), the patrol team, consisting of dozens of officers and soldiers from various forces, quickly set off to carry out their mission. Under the morning sun filtering through the canopy of the old forest, the patrol team climbed steep slopes, waded through streams, and traversed the forest to conduct their patrol of the border and boundary markers.

Patrols ensure safety, making the spring season on the border even more joyful.
Perform the ritual of saluting the milestone.

After walking and traversing many kilometers through the forest, the patrol team arrived at sovereignty marker 79 (2). At the sacred marker, the soldiers solemnly saluted the flag, tidied up, cleaned the marker and cleared the grass around the base of the marker. Mr. Duong Van Nam, Secretary of the Youth Union of Hung Thinh hamlet, Loc Thinh commune, shared: “During the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Horse, everyone wants to be with their family and relatives to celebrate the new spring, but the Border Guard soldiers are still patrolling, guarding, and maintaining security and order in the border area day and night. Therefore, we also volunteer to participate with them, contributing a little effort to make the new spring more joyful.”

On deserted roads, along inter-village and inter-commune routes in remote and isolated areas, even during the Tet holiday, border guards and police officers are present day and night on patrol, ensuring peace and security for the people to enjoy the spring festival and celebrate Tet.

Deploy the task of observing the target.

During patrols, officers and soldiers combine visits to wish people a Happy New Year with public awareness campaigns, encouraging people to actively participate in crime prevention, combating crime, and reporting offenses, thereby contributing to maintaining security and order at the grassroots level.

Lieutenant Colonel Chu Huy Cong, Political Officer of the Loc Thinh Border Gate Border Guard Station, shared: “From the marching steps under the morning sun to the solemn moment beside the sacred border marker, all those images are like wishes for peace from the border guards to the people in the border region, so that every family and every citizen can have a warm, safe, happy, and joyful spring.”
