According to the Hanoi People's Committee, during the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Dragon 2024, the city paid close attention to caring for beneficiaries of social policies and those who have rendered meritorious services to the nation.
Specifically, by February 7th (the 28th day of the 12th lunar month of the Year of the Rabbit), the city had completed the distribution of gifts to eligible recipients as instructed. The Hanoi Fatherland Front and other political and social organizations have also launched the 2024 Tet campaign with many activities to give gifts to policy beneficiary families, the poor, people with disabilities, and people in difficult circumstances.
In addition, trade unions at all levels organized programs such as "Tet Reunion - Spring Sharing," "Trade Union Tet Market 2024," and "Trade Union Tet Journey - Spring 2024"; providing support, visiting, giving gifts, encouraging, and wishing Tet greetings to union members and workers. In total, trade unions spent over 188 billion VND from the trade union budget and socialized sources to support over 513,000 union members and workers in difficult circumstances.
According to Nguyen Van Phong, Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, this year the number of gifts for policy beneficiaries and meritorious individuals in the city has increased by nearly 24%. Of this, social contributions from businesses accounted for 25.4% of the total gift budget. This demonstrates the spirit of mutual support, compassion, and shared responsibility of businesses in the face of many difficulties. Notably, not only the city but also various organizations and communes have mobilized social resources to care for policy beneficiaries.
