Before being sidelined last December due to injury, Erling Haaland had scored 14 goals. During that time, Premier League strikers tried to accumulate that number but were unable to surpass the record of the Manchester City forward.
Immediately after his return, Haaland went on to improve his tally in the 2023/24 season to 16 goals, two more than second-placed Mohamed Salah.
Premier League 2023/24 Golden Boot race standings.
The third-highest scorer is Dominic Solanke of Bournemouth. The English player is having the best season of his Premier League career with 13 goals, more than his previous three seasons combined (10 goals). The impressive form of the former Liverpool player has helped the Vitality Stadium team secure a relatively safe position in the league table.
Son Heung-min, returning from a disappointing Asian Cup campaign, provided an assist in Tottenham's 2-1 victory over Brighton in injury time. The South Korean star is now fourth in the Golden Boot race with 12 goals.
Following closely behind Son Heung-min are the English duo, Jarrod Bowen (West Ham) and Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa), both with 10 goals. Richarlison also surprised many by scoring 10 goals this season, ten times his total for the entire 2022/23 season.
Arsenal are title contenders but surprisingly have no players in the top 10 most effective goalscorers in the Premier League this season. The Gunners' current top scorer is Bukayo Saka (8 goals). Manchester United are also absent from this list, with their top scorer, Scott McTominay, only managing 6 goals.
