According to Reuters , clear images, component lists, supplier information, and other details of the iPhone 18 Pro have appeared on the dark web following a data leak from an Apple partner.
The device that appeared in the drop test was described as "a gray, rectangular phone with a triple rear camera setup and the Apple logo." The source claims this is the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro.
The news comes a week after Tata Electronics, an India -based company that manufactures components and assembles iPhone devices, confirmed it had been subjected to a data breach.
Security researchers say the World Leaks ransomware group posted more than 200,000 files related to the attack on the dark web. The attack stole documents belonging to several of the corporation's clients, including Apple and Tesla.
In addition to images of the iPhone 18 Pro, at least six files reveal details about “hundreds” of components used in the device, along with a list of their suppliers.
Immediately after the attack, Tata restricted internal access to sensitive systems and hired a global consulting firm to assess the security situation. However, this incident could disrupt Apple and threaten its relationship with its Indian partner.
Last week, Apple Insider also reported on this serious data breach. The article stated that hackers obtained the complete motherboard schematics of the iPhone 18 Pro along with datasheets for several Apple-designed chips, including the A20 Pro.
