On the morning of June 17th, the Vietnamese box office witnessed a surprising development as the South Korean horror film Colony rose to the top of the day's revenue, pushing the two Vietnamese films, "Ma Xó" and "Lầu Chú Hỏa," down to second and third place respectively.
According to Box Office Vietnam data, on the same morning, the film by the director who previously helmed Train to Busan grossed 1 billion VND , with 11,873 tickets sold across 1,913 screenings. Currently, Colony has earned 37 billion VND in the Vietnamese market.

The Fire Lord's Tower and the Ghost Lord were unexpectedly surpassed. |
Meanwhile, "Ma Xó " (The Ghost), a Vietnamese film that garnered attention recently, dropped to second place despite having significantly more screenings. With 2,438 screenings, Phan Bá Hỷ's film currently grosses 830 million VND in one day, corresponding to 10,673 tickets sold. Previously, "Ma Xó" had topped the box office for two consecutive weeks and currently has a revenue of approximately 126 billion VND . However, the film is showing clear signs of cooling down, making it difficult to reach even higher revenue milestones.
Coming in second is "Lầu chú Hỏa" (Uncle Fire's Mansion) , with 825 million VND earned on the morning of June 17th. Although it didn't create a sensation like some recent horror films, this achievement is still considered quite promising for Hung Tran - a director born in the 1990s making his feature film debut.
After one week of release, "The Fire Tower" has grossed 36 billion VND . With a relatively low budget, the film is considered to have surpassed its break-even point and is entering the profitable phase.
