On October 20, 21 and 22, on Cat Ba Island, Cat Hai District, Hai Phong City, Cat Ba Culture, Sports and Tourism Week with the theme "Cat Ba - Four Seasons Rendezvous" in 2023 took place.
This is an activity organized annually by Cat Hai district, Hai Phong city at the beginning of the autumn-winter tourist season every year to contribute to promoting Cat Ba tourism, creating unique cultural, artistic and sports highlights to attract tourists, especially international tourists to the World Natural Heritage of Ha Long Bay - Cat Ba archipelago.
The 2023 “Cat Ba - Four Seasons Rendezvous” Culture, Sports and Tourism Week is expected to attract more than 10,000 visitors.
The 2023 “Cat Ba - Four Seasons Rendezvous” Culture, Sports and Tourism Week has many activities, the highlights of which are the Cat Ba EDM Music Festival (evening of October 20), the “Cat Ba - Four Seasons Rendezvous” Art Program (evening of October 21), the 7th 3-region Classic Car Reunion Program and the 2023 Cat Hai District Open Cross-Country Race (morning of October 22).
Speaking to Nguoi Dua Tin, Mr. Pham Tri Tuyen - Head of the Department of Culture, Information, Sports and Tourism of Cat Hai District, Hai Phong City, said that the Culture, Sports and Tourism Week "Cat Ba - Four Seasons Rendezvous" in 2023 is expected to attract more than 10,000 domestic and international tourists. Thereby, bringing the total number of tourists to Cat Ba since the beginning of the year to 2.7 million.
Ha Long Bay - Cat Ba Archipelago was recognized by UNESCO as a World Natural Heritage in mid-September 2023.
In 2023, Cat Ba tourism aims to welcome 3 million domestic and international tourists, about 600,000 more than in 2022 and the highest ever. Although there are still more than 2 months for Cat Hai district, Hai Phong city to achieve the set target (welcoming more than 300,000 more tourists), it is relatively difficult because the autumn-winter period is the weak point of Cat Ba tourism in particular and northern island tourism in general.
Faced with this situation, according to Mr. Pham Tri Tuyen, the local government is currently promoting propaganda and promotion to domestic and international tourists about Ha Long Bay - Cat Ba Archipelago, which was recognized by UNESCO as a World Natural Heritage in mid-September 2023, as well as creating favorable conditions and incentives for travel agencies, accommodation and dining establishments on Cat Ba Island .
