Hai Phong: Cat Ba Program

Over three days, October 20th, 21st, and 22nd, the Cat Ba Culture, Sports , and Tourism Week, themed "Cat Ba - A Meeting Place for Four Seasons" 2023, will take place on Cat Ba Island, Cat Hai District, Hai Phong City.

This is an annual event organized by Cat Hai District, Hai Phong City, at the beginning of the autumn-winter tourist season. Its purpose is to promote Cat Ba tourism, creating a unique cultural, artistic, and sporting highlight to attract tourists, especially international tourists, to the Ha Long Bay - Cat Ba Archipelago World Natural Heritage Site.

Event - Hai Phong: The Cat Ba - Four Seasons Rendezvous program takes place over 3 days. — The 2023 "Cat Ba - A Meeting Place for Four Seasons" Culture, Sports, and Tourism Week is expected to attract more than 10,000 visitors.

The 2023 Cat Ba - A Meeting Place for Four Seasons Culture, Sports, and Tourism Week features many activities, with the highlight being the Cat Ba EDM Music Festival (evening of October 20th), the "Cat Ba - A Meeting Place for Four Seasons" art program (evening of October 21st), the 7th Classic Car Gathering of the Three Regions, and the 2023 Cat Hai District Open Cross-Country Race (morning of October 22nd).

Speaking to Nguoi Dua Tin (The Informer), Mr. Pham Tri Tuyen, Head of the Department of Culture, Information, Sports and Tourism of Cat Hai District, Hai Phong City, said that the 2023 "Cat Ba - A Meeting Place for Four Seasons" Culture, Sports and Tourism Week is expected to attract more than 10,000 domestic and international tourists. This will bring the total number of tourists to Cat Ba from the beginning of the year to date to 2.7 million.

Event - Hai Phong: The Cat Ba - Four Seasons Rendezvous program took place over 3 days (Figure 2). — The Ha Long Bay - Cat Ba Archipelago complex was recognized by UNESCO as a World Natural Heritage Site in mid-September 2023.

In 2023, Cat Ba tourism aimed to welcome 3 million domestic and international tourists, approximately 600,000 more than in 2022 and the highest number ever recorded. Although Cat Hai district, Hai Phong city, has more than two months to achieve this goal (receiving over 300,000 more tourists), it will be relatively difficult because the autumn and winter seasons are a weak point for Cat Ba tourism in particular, and coastal and island tourism in Northern Vietnam in general.

In response to this situation, according to Mr. Pham Tri Tuyen, the local government is currently stepping up its efforts to promote the Ha Long Bay - Cat Ba Archipelago complex, which was recognized by UNESCO as a World Natural Heritage Site in mid-September 2023, to domestic and international tourists. They are also creating favorable conditions and offering incentives to travel agencies, accommodation establishments, and restaurants on Cat Ba Island .
