By staying close to their assigned areas, local police forces proactively implement various measures to prevent and combat crime and violations of the law. As a result, security and order are maintained, building trust among the people.

Immediately after implementing the new organizational model and structure, the police forces in communes, wards, and special zones throughout the province quickly stabilized their organization and developed specific work programs and plans. Based on this, they advised local Party committees and authorities to direct departments, organizations, neighborhood groups, hamlets, and villages to leverage the strength of the entire population in ensuring security and order.

Long Xuyen Ward has many economic and service activities, and the ward's police force always prioritizes security and order. The ward's police leadership has implemented numerous measures to manage and monitor suspicious individuals, promptly detecting and handling violations of the law. Through these efforts, many social vice hotspots have been eradicated, and thieves and robbers have been apprehended, contributing to strengthening the people's trust in the police force.

Lieutenant Colonel Vo Van Chinh, Head of Long Xuyen Ward Police, said: “From the beginning of the year, the Ward Police Party Committee focused on leading and directing the implementation of professional measures to thoroughly understand the situation, accurately predict and reflect the reality of the area to proactively prevent and avoid any sudden or unexpected situations. The Ward Police force also implemented plans to ensure security and safety for many important political events, including the 14th National Congress of the Party; ensured security and order at 37 voter outreach events; and coordinated the deployment of 248 officers, soldiers, local security and order forces, and militia to ensure security at 60 polling stations in the area.”

Not only in central wards, but also in rural areas, the commune police force has played a good role in crime prevention and control. Lieutenant Colonel Huynh Thanh Dao - Head of Long Kien Commune Police, said that the commune police proactively advised the Party Committee and the People's Committee of the commune to issue many plans to ensure good security and order in the area. Through their work, the commune police dismantled 3 gambling cases involving 31 individuals; discovered 2 cases of illegal drug possession involving 3 individuals; and coordinated with the Criminal Police Department of the Provincial Police to dismantle a dice gambling den involving 19 individuals. At the same time, they coordinated with the people's committees of the hamlets and local security and order forces to conduct drug tests on 50 individuals suspected of illegal drug use.

Commune-level police forces are also stepping up efforts to build and expand the model of all citizens participating in crime prevention and control through crime reporting mailboxes and information groups on social media. This enhances the role of citizens in detecting, providing information, and supporting law enforcement agencies in combating crime right from the grassroots level.

In Hoi An commune, the commune police force has also implemented many operational plans to proactively prevent and combat various types of crime. According to Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Hoai Han, Head of Hoi An Commune Police, the unit focuses on questioning and deterring individuals with criminal records, suspected drug users, or those showing signs of violating the law; and closely coordinates with other departments and hamlets in patrolling and monitoring the local situation. Thanks to the decisive implementation of these measures, since the beginning of the year, Hoi An Commune Police have eradicated 5 gambling dens, arrested and prosecuted many violators, contributing to maintaining security and order in the locality.

In the coming period, commune-level police forces will continue to strengthen their grasp of the local situation, closely manage individuals at risk of violating the law; effectively utilize task forces to ensure security and order at the grassroots level, and intensify patrols and controls 24/7. Major General Nguyen Van Han - Director of the Provincial Police Department - directed the grassroots police forces to continue to intensify attacks and suppression of all types of crimes and violations of the law right from the residential areas, resolutely preventing criminals from operating rampantly, contributing to maintaining the peaceful and happy lives of the people and effectively serving the socio-economic development tasks of the locality.
