According to the Vietnam News Agency correspondent in the Middle East and North Africa, on May 23, EgyptAir, the national airline of Egypt, launched its first direct flight between Cairo and Los Angeles, aiming to promote tourism , trade, and business connections between Egypt and the western United States.
EgyptAir leaders said the Los Angeles route is part of the airline's strategy to expand its international network and strengthen its global presence. EgyptAir is also preparing to launch a route to Chicago.
EgyptAir now offers direct flights from Cairo to several major US cities, including New York, Washington, and Newark.
Previously, EgyptAir announced it would resume direct flights between Cairo and Kuwait from June 1, 2026, with a frequency of one flight per day, as air travel in the region gradually returns to normal.
