There's an abundant supply of goods for Halloween, prices are stable, and many new items are available. However, sales are significantly slower than in previous years. Many vendors are feeling extremely anxious.

Seller It is believed that due to the difficult economic situation this year, many customers are choosing to skip the Halloween season (which takes place on October 31st) or only decorate minimally, instead focusing their efforts on Christmas.
Many new items are available at stable prices, but they're not selling well.
According to Tuoi Tre Online 's observations on October 30th, shops specializing in Halloween decorations and toys on streets such as Tran Quang Khai, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai (District 1), Hai Ba Trung (District 3), Hai Thuong Lan Ong (District 5)... displayed a wide variety of "spooky" products in diverse designs and types.
Accordingly, traditional decorative items such as pumpkin lanterns are sold for between 35,000 and 80,000 VND per piece. Items like spiderwebs are also sold for around 40,000 VND. Masks, ranging from scary to cute styles, cost between 30,000 and 100,000 VND per piece.
Besides the usual spooky decorations and toys, this year many shops are selling masks of famous football players like Ronaldo and Messi, priced at around 35,000 VND each.

Ms. Tran Thao, the owner of a shop on Hai Thuong Lan Ong Street, said that for this year's holiday season, she imported about 100 celebrity masks. To date, most of them have been sold, with the masks being particularly popular among young boys.
However, according to Ms. Thao, the revenue from these items is insignificant compared to previous years.
Similarly, despite proactively reducing the amount of goods imported and not importing expensive mannequins due to concerns about purchasing power during this year's Halloween festival, Ms. Doan Thi Huong, representative of Tra Huong decoration store (Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City), is also quite worried as the number of customers is lower than expected, with the risk of unsold and excess inventory.
The best-selling items during this period are mainly simple, inexpensive products priced under 50,000 VND, such as face masks, pumpkin-shaped candy containers, etc., and the majority of customers are young people. - Photo: NHAT XUAN
"Every year, shopping starts a week before the holiday, with bustling activity every day, but this year it's completely deserted, even though we've tried to keep prices stable. After October 31st, it's like all the goods will be put into storage," Ms. Huong said disappointedly.
Meanwhile, Mr. Nguyen Toan, the owner of another shop on Hai Thuong Lan Ong Street, said that sales this year have been unprecedentedly slow.
"Last year, revenue dropped by half compared to its heyday. However, this year sales are even slower and have decreased further," he lamented.
It's all because of the difficult economic situation.
According to Ms. Thao, due to the difficult economic situation this year, many places are skipping Halloween, either not decorating at all or decorating only minimally, and focusing their efforts on Christmas decorations.

"This year's customers are mainly young people and children brought by their parents to shop for items for the school festival. Many schools also follow the example of international schools in organizing this day for children."
"Therefore, the best-selling items are costume accessories like masks and candy bowls priced under 50,000 VND, while the rest sell slowly," Ms. Thao said.
"Every year, cafes, bars, restaurants, etc., usually invest in and search for extravagant Halloween decorations such as million-dollar ghosts or giant ghosts to increase the 'horror' atmosphere. However, this year, the number of customers has decreased significantly because many places have announced closures or reduced business, so they are not enthusiastic about decorating," said Mr. Nguyen Toan.

According to Tuoi Tre Online , many shops selling decorations and costumes are quiet despite being in the peak holiday season. Halloween decorations and costumes are being sold sporadically by vendors, mixed in with Christmas items such as snowmen, Christmas trees, and reindeer…
In fact, many stores are skipping selling Halloween items and choosing to display only Christmas decorations, even though the holiday is still almost two months away.
Supermarkets, electronics stores... are having a blast with promotions.
During this period, numerous supermarkets are offering deep discounts. Specifically, from now until November 5th, Lotte Mart is offering discounts ranging from 20% to 40% on a range of products, such as Hubba Bubba gum reduced to 32,900 VND/box, Choco Rock chocolate reduced to 19,500 VND/pack, salmon sushi reduced to 79,900 VND/portion, and Tom Yum chicken rice reduced to 29,900 VND/portion... Similarly, Emart, MM Mega Market, and others have also announced promotions on many items during this time.
Many retailers such as Dien Thoai Vui and Cellphones have also announced deep discounts on phone and laptop repair services, accessories, and more for Halloween.
