Joy in 31 charitable homes

In late May 2025, the Provincial Red Cross Society inaugurated 31 "Houses of Compassion" in the districts of Na Hang, Lam Binh, Chiem Hoa, Ham Yen, and Yen Son, with a total value of over 6.1 billion VND. Of this, over 1.8 billion VND came from the "From the Highlands to the Sky" charitable program; Tuyen Quang Petroleum Company; Tuyen Quang Power Company; the Vietnam Women Journalists Club; the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Department; and other generous sponsors. The remaining funds came from the families' contributions and the community's labor support.

Leaders of the Provincial Red Cross Society and Tuyen Quang Power Company presented gifts to the new house of Mr. Ha Van Chien's family in Dong Tien village, Phuc Son commune (Lam Binh district).

Mr. Ha Van Chien, from Dong Tien village, Phuc Son commune (Lam Binh district), welcomed us into his spacious and airy new house, unable to hide his joy mixed with emotion. Due to difficult circumstances and being a poor household, it was only in his twilight years that he was able to build a new house with the help of the Provincial Red Cross Society, which connected him with benefactors to support his family. Mr. Chien said: “Before, the old house was dilapidated, and I was always worried it would collapse. In the dry season, it was stiflingly hot, and in the rainy season, it leaked everywhere. We had many children. Now, having a sturdy house is my lifelong dream. I never imagined that at over 70 years old, I would have a house like this. I am deeply moved.”

Unable to hide her joy in her new home, Ms. Ma Thi Nhat, from Ban Thang village, Trung Ha commune (Chiem Hoa district), shared: “My family is a poor household and couldn't afford to build a new house. In February 2025, thanks to the attention of the Provincial Red Cross Society, various organizations, and benefactors, I received 60 million VND in support to build a new house with an area of over 60 square meters. This is a motivation for my family to improve our lives.”

Comrade Quan Anh Hien, Secretary of the Party Committee of Trung Ha commune (Chiem Hoa district), said: “Thanks to the support from the Provincial Red Cross Society, we built 5 new 'Houses of Compassion' for poor households starting in March 2025. These houses have now been completed and put into use, each with an area of over 60 square meters and a total cost of more than 1 billion VND. These 'Houses of Compassion,' funded through the Provincial Red Cross Society's efforts, are a vivid testament to the spread of solidarity, compassion, and social responsibility.”

Building a compassionate community

The Humanitarian Month 2025 will not only include a series of Red Cross activities with a movement-based approach, but also a journey connecting compassionate hearts and igniting love through the simplest acts of kindness.

Comrade Nguyen Hoang Long, Chairman of the Provincial Red Cross Society, said: During the 2025 Humanitarian Month, the entire Society mobilized resources totaling over 5.1 billion VND, reaching 200% of the set plan. Of this, the Provincial Red Cross Society mobilized over 4 billion VND in donations, assisting more than 3,000 people in difficult circumstances with appropriate forms and levels of support.

The association inaugurated and handed over 31 charitable houses; coordinated the organization of the Blood Donation Day, receiving 1,700 units of blood, achieving 180% of the target; coordinated with the working group of the Ministry of Public Security , MBbank (Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank), and the People's Committee of Yen Son district to support the construction of a kindergarten in Chuong village, Hung Loi commune; coordinated the organization of humanitarian surgical activities, free medical examinations and medication distribution...

Recently, the Provincial Red Cross Society awarded scholarships worth 24 million VND to three children of Mr. Nguyen Van Vuong's family, residing in Hamlet 2, Doi Can Ward (Tuyen Quang City). The funds were provided by the Thien Tam Fund - Vingroup Corporation.

The activities of the Provincial Red Cross Society during the 2025 Humanitarian Month affirmed the core role of the Red Cross Society as a bridge and coordinator in humanitarian and charitable activities. Through these activities, it fostered a spirit of mutual support and compassion, spreading humanitarian values within the community.
