The story of the ao dai (Vietnamese traditional dress) is not only told through its fabric, but also through the heartfelt emotions of those who love Hue and Vietnamese culture. The flowing dresses, bathed in the shimmering light of the palace, blended with music and graceful dances, have left a profound impression on the public and tourists alike.
In particular, the highlight of the evening was the East Asian cultural exchange – where the Vietnamese ao dai (traditional dress) stood alongside the kimono of Japan, the hanbok of Korea, and the Hanfu (Chinese long robe). The An Dinh Palace transformed into a magnificent stage for regional traditional culture, where diversity shone in harmony, and each national costume was not just clothing but also a declaration of the culture, history, and spirit of its respective nation.
Taking place from June 5th to 15th, the Hue Community Ao Dai Week 2025 includes many outstanding activities such as: cycling for the environment "Ao Dai through the streets"; the "Ao Dai to the roots" journey; a space showcasing traditional Ao Dai tailoring; the "Cultural Colors" art program; the "Viet Phong Convergence" parade; the "Ao Dai - The Vibrant Colors of the Ancient Capital" art program; the "Ao Dai on the streets" flash mob dance; the "Ao Dai in schools" seminar; an exhibition of products from the 2025 Children's Book-Based Painting Contest, themed "Ao Dai and Childhood"; the "Ao Dai Dance" program; an exhibition of works and a performance of the "Ao Dai Applying Diem Phung Thi Art" collection; a flower and incense offering ceremony at Truong Thai Mausoleum and a parade to pay tribute to King Vo Nguyen Phuc Khoat and Emperor Minh Mang; and the "Ao Dai - Children's Joy" festival night…
