
Around 3-4 PM, along the roads in Tri Ton commune , skewers of grilled frogs, golden brown and emitting an alluring aroma, entice tourists. Ms. Ngoc, who has been selling grilled frogs for many years in the park near Cay Me Bridge, said that the frog meat is mixed with spices to create a unique flavor.

After a few minutes of grilling, the golden-brown grilled frog skewers are ready to be served to diners.
The grilled frog skewers are quite large, leading many to mistakenly believe they are the actual size of the frogs. However, upon closer inspection, it's clear the frogs are stuffed with an extra layer of meat.
According to Ms. Ngoc, after catching the frogs, they are cleaned, then the smaller frogs are minced together with pork, lemongrass, turmeric, various other spices, and a few kaffir lime leaves for a stronger aroma. All the mixture is stuffed into the bellies of the larger frogs, and then bamboo sticks are used to clamp them lengthwise to secure the ingredients and shape the frogs.
The preparations were complete, the charcoal grill was glowing red, all that was needed was to place the frogs on the grill; after turning them two or three times, the frog meat began to firm up, and the aroma of the frog meat permeated the air.
Grilled frog in Tri Ton is usually sold on rainy days at large markets in Chau Lang, Phnom Pi, and Tri Ton. Especially during the Sene Dolta festival, grilled frog is sold in large quantities. Currently, this dish has become a local specialty, favored by tourists visiting Tri Ton commune.

Ms. Phuong has been making grilled frog dishes in Tri Ton commune for many years.
A serving of grilled frog, consisting of frog skewers and sauce, costs between 15,000 and 20,000 VND per frog. Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong from Long Xuyen ward said she loves this dish. "Every time I come to Tri Ton, I always enjoy a few skewers of grilled frog. On weekends, combining sightseeing with delicious food is a wonderful experience," Ms. Hong shared.
With rice paddies characterized by a mixture of straw and sand, frogs quickly multiply as soon as it rains. At this time, the Khmer people begin plowing the land to produce a new rice crop, taking advantage of the opportunity to catch frogs for food for their families.

Besides frog dishes, locals also make grilled beef skewers and grilled beef with unique flavors.
Tri Ton commune is one of the impressive destinations for tourists due to the fusion of culinary cultures of the Kinh and Khmer people, creating a rich and diverse cuisine.
