The Provincial People's Council approved several important items before the province was merged.

The Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council announced that on the afternoon of June 27th, the 10th Provincial People's Council, term 2021-2026, convened its 32nd (special) session to consider matters within its jurisdiction. This was the last session of the former An Giang province before its merger with Kien Giang province to form the new An Giang province.

At the session, delegates considered and voted to approve the draft Resolution amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Regulations on decentralization of revenue sources and expenditure tasks during the budget stabilization period 2022-2025 of budgets at all levels in An Giang province, issued together with Resolution 15/2021/NQ-HĐND, dated October 28, 2021; and the draft Resolution adjusting Resolution 64/NQ-HĐND, dated December 9, 2024, on the estimated state budget revenue in the province, local budget revenue and expenditure, and local budget allocation of An Giang province in 2025.
