Dedicated to caring for patients.

The medical profession is a special one because it is linked to the noble mission of curing diseases and saving lives. Choosing this profession means choosing to dedicate oneself, accepting the possibility of loss and selfless sacrifice. It's a choice to witness the joyful cries of newborn babies, the sighs of relief after a successful surgery, and the happy smiles of patients leaving the hospital.

Treat patients like family.

Like other medical staff, Le Thi Hong Nhung, a pediatric rehabilitation technician at the Pediatric Rehabilitation Department (Da Nang City Rehabilitation Hospital), is always trusted and respected by patients and their families. With over 12 years of experience, Ms. Nhung has intervened in and cared for hundreds of children with syndromes such as: autism spectrum disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, language development disorders, intellectual disability, motor developmental delay, etc.

Every day, she witnesses the unusual behaviors of young patients: screaming, banging their heads, scratching...; crying is a characteristic sound in the ward day and night; even the smell of urine and vomit is not unfamiliar. Witnessing the disabilities of children and the difficulties that parents go through every day with their children, Ms. Nhung has developed greater empathy and understanding for the families of young patients.

That's also why she wants to stay at the hospital, wanting to contribute her efforts to support families and young patients on their journey to reintegrate into the community, even though many colleagues couldn't handle the work pressure and psychological stress and chose to leave.

Ms. Nhung shared: "Working in the Pediatric Rehabilitation Department means constantly interacting with children who suffer a great deal of physical and mental pain, so we always treat them with the same care and concern as a mother or family member."

Despite working in a highly infectious environment, Head Nurse Vu Thi Thanh Tam of Internal Medicine Department I ( Da Nang Lung Hospital) consistently excels in her assigned duties.

She meticulously cared for and encouraged patients, unafraid of the highly contagious nature of the disease, earning their complete trust and affection. Despite daily contact with tuberculosis and drug-resistant tuberculosis patients, who have a very high risk of transmission, she always worked with exemplary dedication, approachability, and caution.

According to the leaders of Da Nang Lung Hospital, nurse Vu Thi Thanh Tam always demonstrates a spirit of volunteerism in her work, is not afraid of difficult tasks, and strives to complete her duties well. In particular, nurse Tam is always caring and dedicated to patients. She also handles situations well when advising on care regimens and providing health education to tuberculosis patients, ensuring that patients and their families understand and feel secure about their treatment.

Sharing with patients

Working in the hematology and blood transfusion department, recognizing the urgency and importance of providing timely blood and platelets to patients, medical technician Ho Phu, from the Laboratory Department (Da Nang Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital), has actively and proactively participated in voluntary blood donation, especially in emergency situations, to promptly save patients from critical conditions. He has donated blood more than 20 times to save lives.

According to the leaders of Da Nang Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital, in addition to his personal contributions, Mr. Phu actively mobilized and encouraged volunteers to donate blood and platelets in emergency situations, thereby spreading the humanitarian value of blood donation to save lives in the community. Furthermore, Mr. Phu is a core member of the mobile blood sample collection team deployed by the Department of Health.

Similar to Mr. Ho Phu, Chief Medical Technician Ho Ngoc Duong of the Laboratory and Blood Transfusion Department (Da Nang Oncology Hospital) is always ready to donate blood when patients need it. In 2024 alone, he participated in numerous emergency whole blood donations for patients. To date, Mr. Duong has donated blood more than 20 times to save lives…

Having worked for over 15 years in the Neonatal Emergency, Intensive Care and Pathology Department (Da Nang Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital), nurse Kieu Thi Minh Yen understands very well the pain of parents whose children are unfortunately born with illnesses.

With a deep love for her profession and a profound understanding of the feelings of parents, Ms. Yen always prioritizes the goals and needs of patients; she helps, cares for, and explains things to patients' families thoughtfully and attentively so that they can have peace of mind and trust in the treatment results of the doctors and medical staff.

In addition, she empathizes with the suffering of patients; she is ready to support and call for material assistance for patients in difficult circumstances, bringing joy, hope, and optimism to the lives of those around her...

Beyond her regular nursing duties, she has continuously strived to improve her skills through self-study. As a result, she is consistently assigned to perform advanced and specialized techniques in the fields of neonatology and critical care, making a significant contribution to saving patients' lives.

According to the head of the Neonatal Emergency and Intensive Care and Pathology Department, the department is responsible for caring for and treating sick newborns under 28 days old, especially extremely premature and low-birth-weight infants, and severely ill newborns requiring long-term treatment. During peak patient periods, Nurse Yen readily participates in overtime work, actively supporting colleagues and caring for pediatric patients...

There are many other exemplary individuals who dedicate themselves day and night to the medical profession and to patients. These shining examples, like the bright white coats, represent a spirit of responsibility and selfless dedication, overcoming difficulties to bring hope to people's lives.
