For decades, the road through Thong Nhat village has been in a state of disrepair, posing a potential traffic safety hazard and causing difficulties for the daily lives and production activities of the local people.
Therefore, when Quang Son commune implemented the policy of socializing investment in transportation infrastructure, especially by mobilizing people to donate land for road construction, the households subject to land clearance all showed high levels of agreement.
In Thong Nhat village, 28 households whose land is within the road expansion area have all agreed to the land donation plan. Among them, Mr. Viet's family is a prime example. According to the design plan, his family will have to donate approximately 300m² of land along the road.
Including assets on the land such as crops, fences, and the grocery store, the value of the damage amounts to several hundred million dong. Despite some concerns, his family still agrees with the plan to expand the road.
Mr. Nguyen Van Bac, Secretary of the Thong Nhat village Party branch, said that investing in the road through the village has been a long-awaited aspiration of the people for many years. Therefore, as soon as Quang Son commune implemented the policy and organized propaganda and mobilization efforts, the people all supported it and hoped that the project would be implemented soon.
Currently, Quang Son commune still has about 10km of inter-commune roads that are severely damaged and degraded. In line with the policy of developing rural transportation infrastructure, the locality has implemented an investment plan based on the "three together" approach:
The state invests in construction; people voluntarily donate land; and businesses contribute funds to support assets on the land. Initially, the commune will upgrade 4 km of inter-village roads, with a total construction value of approximately 100 billion VND.
To facilitate construction, residents are expected to donate approximately 16,000 square meters of land. In addition, nearly 20 businesses operating in manufacturing, trade, and transportation along the route have agreed to contribute funds to compensate for the assets on the land of about 100 affected households.

Sharing his thoughts on partnering with the local community, Mr. Nguyen Van Dam, Deputy Director of CACO3 Quang Son Trading and Manufacturing Joint Stock Company, stated that this road is shared by both residents and businesses. Therefore, businesses contributing funds to support the people is both a responsibility and a long-term investment in their own production and business activities.
According to Mr. Khuc Kim Quang, Vice Chairman of the Quang Son Commune People's Committee, the provincial authorities have approved the investment plan and allocated state budget funds to implement the project. The locality is currently finalizing the last tasks related to surveying and supporting land clearance.
Through the implementation process, more than 100 households in the four villages through which the road passes have basically given their full support. Investing in the road early will not only facilitate the movement and exchange of goods for residents and businesses, but will also be a crucial factor in attracting businesses and investors to the locality.
With strong political will, public consensus, and the support of the business community, the investment in improving transportation infrastructure in Quang Son is expected to create significant momentum, contributing to socio-economic development and gradually improving the lives of the people.
