Artifacts "tell the story" of independent autumn

From time-worn photos, red flags with yellow stars that once fluttered in historical moments, to brush strokes depicting the faces of soldiers, the autumn of independence seems to be resurrected in the sacred space of the President Ho Chi Minh Relic Site at the Presidential Palace.

From Uncle Ho's legacy to peace stories

These days, the President Ho Chi Minh Relic Site at the Presidential Palace is becoming the meeting point for a series of activities celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, with the highlight being the exhibition Vietnam - Ho Chi Minh - Milestones of National History.

The exhibition is divided into 5 parts, with more than 200 images, documents, and valuable artifacts, leading viewers from the days when Uncle Ho left the country to find a way to save the country, through the glorious autumn of 1945, the glorious Dien Bien Phu victory, to the day the country is filled with joy of unification and the renovation and integration process today.

Also in the relic site, the thematic exhibition Journey for Peace and the exhibition Continuing the story of peace bring the public closer to a valuable hidden thread: peace is the achievement of an entire nation that knows how to sacrifice and persevere.

The artifacts about President Ho Chi Minh and General Nguyen Chi Thanh recreate the milestones of the struggle to protect the young independence, affirming the truth: to have peace, we must maintain national independence.

The exhibition about Vietnam's participation in UN peacekeeping opens up the image of Vietnamese blue beret soldiers with international missions, who are both brave and courageous, and are also cultural ambassadors, spreading the good qualities of the Vietnamese people.

On this occasion, the launching ceremony of two special publications also took place at the relic site: President Ho Chi Minh with General Nguyen Chi Thanh, fully depicting the close teacher-student, leader-colleague relationship, while honoring the outstanding contributions of the General; The former Governor-General of Indochina Palace and the Presidential Palace today, telling the story of the process from a colonial architectural work to a sacred historical space, a place where culture, politics and emotions of the entire nation converge.

Director of the President Ho Chi Minh Relic Site at the Presidential Palace Le Thi Phuong said that the series of activities and events have contributed to spreading the invaluable heritage values at the Presidential Palace Relic Site - a special national relic.

This is also the first time AR technology has been applied at a relic site, helping viewers "meet" history in a visual, vivid way, creating a bridge between heritage and the young generation in the digital age.

On August 15, the National Archives Center I introduced the online exhibition Nothing is more precious than independence and freedom, introducing many rare documents and images about the journey of nearly a century of resilience under colonial rule and 80 years of nation building.

Portraits of Vietnamese people through paintings

At the same time, at the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum, the exhibition "Children of the Fatherland" opens up a vibrant painting space, where the past and present blend in every color and line.

80 typical works from the period 1947-1986, from oil, lacquer, silk, paper, wood to plaster, vividly depict portraits of the nation's outstanding children, from hero Nguyen Van Troi, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Dinh, doctor Ton That Tung, to female militiamen, liberation soldiers, mine workers, farmers in remote areas...

The exhibition is not only an artistic activity but also a profound gratitude, arousing the will to rise up and continue the flame of patriotism, so that every Vietnamese today can proudly continue on the path of building a prosperous and happy Vietnam. The exhibition brings together many great names of modern Vietnamese fine arts such as: Phan Ke An, Bui Xuan Phai, Nguyen Sang, Diep Minh Chau, Huynh Van Gam, along with painters - martyrs Hoang Anh, Ha Xuan Phong ...

Director of the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum Nguyen Anh Minh shared: “Coming to the exhibition, visitors will be able to admire works depicting images of people who contributed to the common victory of the whole nation in many different positions and positions, such as: Surgery in the tunnel of doctor Ton That Tung by female artist Van Duong Thanh, or Cam Pha Mine Emulation Fighter Pham Trong Thuy by famous artist Nguyen Sang, Labor Heroine Nguyen Thi Khuong by artist Than Trong Su…”.

The series of activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (September 2nd) this year is a fusion of the past and the present. Each artifact, each painting, each page of a book has become a special piece, telling the story of the autumn of independence. It is the autumn of aspiration, of faith and of a nation that has stood up and won the right to control its own destiny.
