The match between Ha Van Hieu and Zakhar Dzmitrychenka started at 4pm and lasted about 2 hours and 30 minutes, including the break. Throughout the match, the two weightlifters played cautiously and reservedly.
In the 7th round, Hieu "Giant" had to seek medical attention due to bleeding in his head. After 12 rounds, the two wrestlers were still undecided, so the organizers decided to stop the match and declare it a draw. Ha Van Hieu and Zakhar will split the prize money. Accordingly, each wrestler will receive a $5,000 prize, not including bonuses from sponsors. After the match ended, both wrestlers showed each other friendly gestures. Zakhar even picked up his opponent to celebrate.
Ha Van Hieu (1.92 m tall, 130 kg) is no longer a strange name in the Vietnamese wrestling world, as he has won the national championship 15 times, 4 SEA Games gold medals (2009, 2011, 2019 and 2022). He is considered a monument of the Vietnamese freestyle and classical wrestling world.
After retiring, Hieu "giant" switched to coaching, refereeing in several prestigious MMA tournaments and actively creating content on social networks. He attracted a large fan base thanks to videos showing off his strength.
Ha Van Hieu's opponent, Zakhar Dzmitrychenka (1.81 m, 80 kg) is also an experienced wrestler. He won a bronze medal at the 2018 World Classical Wrestling Championship. The Belarusian wrestler was undefeated when participating in wrestling matches in Vietnam after the recent Lunar New Year 2025.
