In Ho Chi Minh City, candidates arrived at the exam sites early to double-check their information, review their notes, and chat with friends to create a relaxed atmosphere before entering the exam.

At the Hung Vuong High School examination site (District 5), traffic police and the Ho Chi Minh City exam support team were present to assist candidates, giving them gifts such as snacks, pens, and bottled water.

This was the first time Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong (District 8) had driven her child to the high school graduation exam, and she said she was very nervous, feeling just as anxious as a parent. Even after dropping her child off at the exam site, Ms. Huong was still worried and waited a little longer to see if her child had forgotten anything or needed any further assistance.

"I woke up at 4 a.m. to cook and found my child already studying. Seeing her worried, I felt so sorry for her, but I had to try to encourage her. I told her that her parents completely trusted in her efforts over the past time," Mrs. Huong confided.

Ms. Duong Thi Thanh Truc (Binh Tan district) said this was the second time she had taken her children to the 2024 high school graduation exam. To encourage her children, the whole family accompanied them to the exam site.

"We have two daughters; the eldest took the exam a few years ago, so the family has a lot of experience in supporting her. After dropping her off at the exam site, the whole family found a coffee shop to wait in instead of going home," Ms. Truc shared.

Ms. Truc's family accompanied the students taking the exams on the morning of June 27th.

Ms. Truc said she was very proud of her daughter for her hard work in her studies over the past 12 years. While this exam is very important for the candidates, it's not everything, and she always advises her daughter not to put too much pressure on herself.

Observations at the exam site at Trung Vuong High School (District 1) show that some candidates only hope to get enough points to pass the graduation exam, and are not placing too much emphasis on their scores.

Sharing her thoughts before the "big moment," Trang Dai, a student from Trung Vuong High School, said she had applied for admission based on her academic record and was accepted into the Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry.

"I already had a school in mind, so I wasn't too stressed or had high expectations about my scores, and my family didn't put any pressure on me either," Trang Dai shared.

Duy Bao, a student at Tran Khai Nguyen High School (District 5), said he doesn't "cram" or try to guess the exam questions for any particular work. Bao believes that it's enough to review the basic knowledge thoroughly, while the writing and essay development depend on one's own skills.
