Heart-stopping image in front of school gate in Ho Chi Minh City

On the morning of June 27, more than 1 million candidates across the country entered the first exam of the 2024 high school exam, literature, with a test duration of 120 minutes.

In Ho Chi Minh City, candidates arrived at the exam site early to check information, review their papers and chat with friends to create a comfortable atmosphere before taking the exam.

At the Hung Vuong High School exam site (District 5), the Traffic Police force and the HCM City Exam Support Team were present to support candidates, giving gifts of cakes, pens and mineral water.

The first time taking her child to the high school graduation exam, Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong (District 8) said she was also very nervous, as a parent but worried no less than a candidate taking the exam. After taking her child to the exam site, Ms. Huong still felt uneasy, trying to wait a little longer to see if her child had forgotten or needed any more support.

"I woke up at 4am to cook and saw my child already doing his homework. Seeing him so worried, I felt sorry for him but had to try to encourage him. Tell him that we completely trust his efforts during this time" - Mrs. Huong confided.

Ms. Duong Thi Thanh Truc (Binh Tan District) said that this was the second time she took her children to the 2024 high school graduation exam. To encourage her children, the whole family took them to the exam site together.

"We have two daughters, the eldest of whom took the exam a few years ago, so the family has a lot of experience in accompanying their children. After taking them to the exam site, the whole family found a coffee shop to wait instead of going home," Ms. Truc shared.

Mrs. Truc's family accompanied the students on the morning of June 27.

Ms. Truc said she was very proud of her daughter for trying to study for the past 12 years. This exam is very important to the candidates, but it is not everything, she always told her daughter not to put too much pressure on herself.

Sharing before "G hour", Trang Dai, Trung Vuong High School, said she had registered for the review of her academic records and was admitted to Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry.

"I already have a school so I'm not too stressed or have high expectations about my score, and my family doesn't put pressure on me," Trang Dai shared.

Duy Bao, Tran Khai Nguyen High School (District 5), said he did not "cram" or guess the topic of any work. Bao believes that he only needs to review the basic knowledge, and the writing and development of the essay depends on his skills.
