Coach Graham Potter is in danger.

The West Ham manager set an unfortunate record after losing 1-5 to Chelsea in the second round of the Premier League on the morning of August 23rd.

Graham Potter, appointed as West Ham manager on January 9, 2025, on a 2.5-year contract, is under immense pressure following a shaky start.

According to statistics from Opta , with "The Hammers" suffering a heavy defeat against Chelsea at London Stadium, Potter became the manager with the lowest points total in his first 10 home games in charge of West Ham.

Graham Potter only managed 9 points in 10 home games in charge of West Ham – breaking the current record held by former managers Alan Curbishley and Avram Grant, who both had 10 points. Both Curbishley and Grant were once considered two of the worst managers in West Ham history, but Potter has now broken that record.

The West Ham manager faces immense pressure, especially after the Hammers suffered a humiliating 0-3 defeat against Sunderland in the opening round of the 2025/26 Premier League season. The Times called West Ham the worst team in the Premier League at the moment.

Manager Potter could become the first manager to be sacked in the 2025/26 Premier League season if the situation at West Ham doesn't improve quickly. In January, West Ham appointed Graham Potter as head coach, replacing Julen Lopetegui. During his tenure in charge of West Ham in the second half of the 2024/25 season, he also failed to impress, with a relatively low win rate.

However, the Hammers' management still gave him more time to rectify the mistakes from the Lopetegui era and former sporting director Tim Steidten. After a summer of preparation, Coach Potter is under immense pressure to achieve positive results right from the start of the 2025/26 season.

However, West Ham's poor performance against newly promoted Sunderland, followed by a humiliating home defeat against Chelsea, left the club's management dissatisfied.
