On the morning of May 11th, Inter Miami suffered a heavy 1-4 defeat against Minnesota United in a match in the 12th round of the 2025 MLS season. Lionel Messi scored the only goal for Inter Miami.

The defeat against Minnesota United is another worrying result for Inter Miami, as the team continues its poor run of form. They have lost their fourth game in their last five matches across all competitions. After 24 games, Inter Miami have conceded 28 goals.
Previously, according to the Miami Herald , Messi was very unhappy with the quality of play at Inter Miami. The Argentine superstar was dissatisfied with many of his teammates due to their poor and uninspired performances.
