" There is a lot of misinformation coming from Vietnam. I have no intention of letting Van Toan return home. He is not a player to be used for marketing purposes ," Coach Park Choong-kyun shared with the South Korean press.
Previously, there were many rumors speculating that Van Toan would leave Seoul E-Land after the 2023 season ended. In early August, Nam Dinh FC announced that they had reached an agreement with Van Toan. The player's representative denied the above information.
Van Toan has not been used by coach Park Choong-kyun for a long time.
Van Toan left HAGL and made his first overseas move after the 2023 V-League season. He joined Seoul E-Land, a team in the Korean second division (K-League 2). There, he reunited with coach Park Choong-kyun, who previously coached Hanoi FC and briefly worked in the Vietnamese national team's coaching staff under coach Park Hang Seo.
Van Toan was initially trusted by coach Park Choong-kyun. However, he gradually lost his place and has not been registered to play recently. Van Toan has only appeared in 9 matches, including 4 starts for Seoul E-Land. The former HAGL player has not scored any goals in K-League 2 so far.
Coach Park Choong-kyun stated that Van Toan was not being used due to personal issues. He said: " Van Toan has family problems that prevent him from focusing on training. His condition is a bit poor. I don't intend to send him back home. I recently spoke with Van Toan. If his condition improves, I will let him play ."
