Coach Philippe Troussier boldly gave Dinh Bac a chance to join the national team when the player was only 19 years old. After the Vietnam Golden Ball gala, he left a short but meaningful message on his former student's personal page: "There are still many beautiful stories waiting for you to write."
That message quickly garnered significant attention from fans. The move showed that the French coach was still following the journey of the young talent he had mentored. Dinh Bac responded briefly: "Yes, sir."
Under coach Troussier, Dinh Bac was called up to the 2023 Asian Cup finals and made a strong impression in the match against Japan with a beautiful backward header. He became one of the few bright spots for the Vietnamese team against a top opponent in the continent.
Dinh Bac is becoming increasingly mature. He was the driving force behind Vietnam's U22 team winning the gold medal at the 33rd SEA Games. In Thailand, Dinh Bac was repeatedly honored as the best player of the match, before scoring a crucial goal in the final that helped Vietnam's U22 team come from behind to win 3-2 against the host team.
