(CT) - According to the Department of Science and Technology of Can Tho City, the city has 280 businesses operating in the fields of telecommunications, information technology, and digital technology, with revenue of approximately 5,200 billion VND in 2025. Last year, the city focused on investing in the development of the Can Tho Concentrated Information Technology Park and the Hau Giang Digital Technology Park, along with preferential policies and support to attract investment.

To date, the Hau Giang Digital Technology Park covers an area of ​​28.5 hectares, attracting 9 businesses with over 350 employees, gradually forming a space for production, research, and provision of digital technology services. The Can Tho Concentrated Information Technology Park covers an area of ​​20.02 hectares, with a total investment of VND 608.015 billion. 5.3 hectares have been cleared, and the project is being adjusted to implement technical infrastructure according to the plan.

Infrastructure supporting cashless payments, especially electronic payments, has received significant investment. The rate of electronic payments has reached over 50%, with transactions through payment intermediaries accounting for 80%. As of December 2025, the city will have more than 110,000 POS machines and over 13.8 million active payment accounts. Currently, the city has launched and announced the adoption of Market 4.0 in 43 markets.

In 2026, the Science and Technology sector will continue to implement activities to support the development of digital technology enterprises; promote the development of the digital economy in several sectors and fields such as agricultural production, tourism, etc.; support small and medium-sized enterprises in participating in digital transformation; and implement activities to promote the development of e-commerce and cashless payments.
