Female athletes have contributed many achievements to Vietnamese sports .

For female athletes in football, track and field, rowing, and many other outdoor sports, regular training in harsh weather conditions has become commonplace. Whether it's scorching heat or biting cold winds, the prolonged training sessions force athletes to push their limits to perfect their physical fitness and skills.

In martial arts teams like kickboxing, boxing, or wrestling, the challenge comes from recurring injuries. Many times, the faces of female martial artists are bruised and swollen after sparring sessions, causing heartbreak for their families. Meanwhile, behind the graceful movements and artistic demeanor of gymnasts lies a grueling training journey.

Despite facing countless difficulties in training, competition, and daily life, Vietnamese female athletes share a common trait: extraordinary willpower and determination. Thanks to their perseverance and desire to contribute, they have made significant contributions to the overall achievements of Vietnamese sports. According to statistics, at international sporting events, female athletes typically bring home around 55-60% of the total medals for the Vietnamese sports delegation.

Beyond their contributions in terms of medal count, many female athletes have also paved the way for historic milestones in Vietnamese sports. Taekwondo fighter Tran Hieu Ngan was the first athlete to win an Olympic medal for Vietnam at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. In football, the Vietnamese women's national team realized their dream of participating in the World Cup.

In many other sports, female athletes have also left a strong mark. In swimming, "Little Mermaid" Nguyen Thi Anh Vien once dominated the Southeast Asian arenas and became one of the most ശ്രദ്ധേയ athletes at the 2015 SEA Games in Singapore. Besides her, there are a number of other prominent names such as former wrestler Nguyen Thi Lua - who qualified for the Olympics twice; gymnast Phan Thi Ha Thanh - the first Vietnamese gymnast to qualify for the Olympics; and rower Pham Thi Hue with three Olympic qualification spots.

The enduring contributions of female athletes have been recognized by Vietnamese sports through various well-deserved awards. Recently, Government Decree 349 has also issued many specific regulations and policies for female athletes, creating more favorable conditions for them to train and compete with peace of mind.

With unwavering determination and strong character, Vietnamese female athletes are striving to excel every day, like vibrant cactus flowers blooming in the sand. This very resilience empowers them to conquer new heights, contributing to affirming the position of Vietnamese sports on the international stage.
